:stoned Do you think marijuana should be legal???

I don't think it's so bad. After all, beer and cigarettes kill more people. I say let it be... what are your thoughts?

well, marijuana is already used, in some states, for medicinal use so some people do have a need for it.

If people would sit around like hillbilly hicks on the porch smoking the stuff it wouldn't be such a problem.

The problem is when some dumbass gets behind the wheel and tries to drive like he's running the Indy 500, or decides to show his friends his wikkid ski||z behind the wheel.

Legal? No.
Decriminalized? Yes.

If people are busted with what can be considered "personal use" give them a fine and let them go.

Saturday May 6 2006 - Montreal

The Global Marijuana March was held in support of 3 Canadians that are being extradited to the US by the DEA for selling Cannibis seeds!!
In Canada and Quebec, iot is widely understood that cannibis prohibition is a colossal failure. Politicians agianst a legal, regulated cannabis market, are ultimately supporting organised crime.

THIS IS AN ATTACK ON OUR SOVEREIGNTY AS CANADIANS, QUEBECOIS AND IDIVIDUALS.

Fight the war on drugs .. Smoke weed!!!! freely and in the open !

Not so sure of that. Depends on the person. You could say the same about alcohol.

If it isn't banned it would be taxed no doubt. Look at all the money it would make for the tobacco companies. They're in the best position to produce large amounts and package the product. Then they could payoff all those huge judgements the states hold and the tobacco companies and starting to dodge now.

My only concern with legalizing it is putting limits on the amount in your blood stream. You can't just say it's legal and you can drive no matter how much you've had so there needs to be some limits and some testing for those limits.

With booze a simple breath test is pretty accurate but does that work for marijuana?

If they can easily test the amount that's in your system then I feel it should be legal but until a simple test exists you really can't allow it in the USA since everyone drives a car and many carry guns.

Yep legalize it like beer and cigarettes and tax the hell out of it and it might help get the USA out it's huge deficit we have or just give the politicians more money to spend on bullshit.

Forbidden fruit is sweet
make it legal and soon it will become less popular BUT something new will appear and you'll ask the same question.
The main question is: does people need it?
For me life is good without it

used to be in the early 1900's.. well hemp was
until the coton industry got scared when they feared the stronger fibers of hemp.. and cheaper costing too.. would run them out of business

so they lobbied congress at the time (paid hem off) and used the whole marijuana thing (i think.. could be wrong) to get it declared illegal

I'm all for states rights on the issue. Decriminalize it on the federal level and let the states decide if they want to ban the substance.

Slightly off there. Plus hemp production was encouraged until the mid 40's.
Marijuana was made illegal for racial reasons, the same with cocaine.

If pot was legal the smoking industry would just take all the good times out of it and put more nicotine in it.
