How much does 50/50 revshare make the company?

What do you think a normal site that gives affiliates 50/50 revshare makes?

Normal membership for a site is: $24.99

Half goes to affiliate so you are left with: $12.4

15-20% is taken out by processor: $10

Lets say hosting takes out $2: $8

Montly content buys ext $2: $6

Am i right or wrong, you get about $6 per member with a 50/50 revshare right?

Edit: I forgot to include upsels in member area. I guess that could make you $4 extra per member if you are lucky.

So final per member: $10. Sounds about right?

if ur some huge size site, ull be bumped down i belive to 8-6% or something.

this percentage is usually taken from the programmes percentage and does not affect the affiliate at all...this is certainly the case with programmes i know

yes, which is why I mentioned it since the question was about how much the company made, and not the affiliate.

lol, yeah but lets not get into webmaster referral thought because it depands on how many affs were actually refd. I know when i join a program i never use anyones ref. Right now we are looking at $10/member, that sounds about right?

So we're just going to forget about 10% of a business's monthly income because you personally don't use anyone's refs?
But, I get free bandwidth, so should we not count that in your estimates too then?

Ok, lets not forget them then.

Right now we are @ $10/member.

How much do you think it will take out per member for free hosting and refs?

anyway. You'd never get a job at the IRS if you were going to audit a company and say "let's just forget this 10% here... it's a variable. We'll just pretend it never gets deducted."
As much as we'd all love a job at the IRS and all.....

"15-20% is taken out by processor: $10"
15-20% is actually 3.75-5.00
And most affiliate programs get a better break then that.

$24.99 x 15% = $3.75 for processor
$24.99 x 50% = $12.50 for affiliate
$24.99 - $3.75 - $12.50 = $8.74 for sponsor before other expenses

That's how it should be done but many sponsors like to cheat us affiliates and make us pay 50% of the processing fee

You can't really calculate content on a per member basis. I mean, if a site updates once per week, then that is a fixed about of $$'s regardless of whether they have 50 members or 5,000 members.
Also, $4 per member on upsells is too high. That means that 1 out of 10 members will spend at least $40 on upsells...that just isn't going to happen.

the real upside of having affilliates is they are doing all the advertising on a commission basis, which is huge. Lets not forget type ins, word of mouth that this advertising generates. Gets you into new places. Its like having a sales team for free.

Now $8 is not so small either after you start to get 1000 plus members.

20% is high - and with NATS there is very little tracking slippage at all.
