Umm, it should not have jumped in the last 3 months. The biggest change I saw in the dedicated hosting market was about 2-3 years ago with the '$99' deals. You could lease a decent machine with a lot of bandwidth and 'everything managed' for $99 per month. Now, most of the $99 deals are for unmanaged with only 1000GB of bandwidth on a crappy sempron or celeron CPU.

Virtual hosting prices are going down because of people are stuffing their servers with more and more accounts.

Hit me up and let me know what kind of server you are looking for...

sorry to say Baddog, but those are some of the highest prices, I've seen around: $79 for 20GB Bandwidth ???

also "3-5 days for setup" ???
normally it takes a day maximum, usually it's under 4 hours

You are not paying for b/w you are paying for 5 IP's on 5 Class C's with 5 nameservers

Virtual Hosting Multi Class C's (12 - 24 hours for setup)

The 3-5 days is for dedicated. We have 3 different datacenters we use. One will usually have you up within hours, the other two may take longer depending on the day of the week and time of day you place the order with us. We are just giving ourselves leeway.

If you order at 6 PM Friday, you may have to wait until Monday. If you ask for a custom server that we don't have in stock, it may have to be ordered.

baddog, I'm not understanding your offer at your site. It doesn't look like a standard dedicated server offering but more like a VPS/VDS. One of the data centers I did business with provided free additional IP addresses just as long as the IP request was justified per ARIN's guidelines. I've been in the dedicated server/colocation business for six years now and never came across a dedicated service offer.

Hosting prices SHOULD continue to go down every year as technology increases. We haven't really had any big drops in the last couple yeras...but around 3-4 years ago prices dropped dramatically.

It just depends on the quality, there is allot of low quality offers coming out so when people so a quality service they think it's high.

It just depends how important your sites performance is to you.

Also VPS is getting popular, we just added it about 2 years ago and sell a large amount.

But for a serious business they go with the platinum or better. We have customers that pay thousands and get what they pay for.

Not sure if you are asking a question, or just making an observation.

Yes, we are providing something you are not going to find elsewhere, and we offer it in 3 formats: dedicated, VPS and virtual packages.

Domain in your sig uses:

OrgName: Pegasus Web Technologies

NetType: Direct Allocation
NameServer: NS1.PWEBTECH.COM
NameServer: NS2.PWEBTECH.COM

What's the domain on $99 server I would like see if it's any good.

Also I would get your ram upgraded, 512 is not enough for a pc yet a server.

Of course the motherboard, ram, hard drive.

They all play factors.

I could buy someones old p4 off ebay put it on a over sold line of cogent or Verio and make $20 a month off of it.

But we both would lose, I prefer win/win

Prices are definitely fluctuating in the hosting industry just as they are in many other markets.

We offer a high end managed service starting at $300/month for a DELL PowerEdge Dedicated server with 1000GB Data Transfer. This includes fully managed support, security, optimization and scalability as well as a reliable team that ensures customer satisfaction.

Fortunately we have been able to keep our prices somewhat static over the past year and would be happy to quote out a solution that is specific to your needs as we have virtual hosting accounts that cover small needs as well as more scalable solutions that can handle 100+TB/day.

LOL, lets see how long that lasts for... ANY HOST who offers "multiple IP's, in multiple C-Classes' has a FUCKED up network - theres no real way to make that organized and run a proper network, nor is it possible to keep it going with ARIN justification guidelines and restrictions.

Joke companies about to give it up any time now...

You can say what you want, justify it how you want, or be a dumbass as much as you want - IT JUST ISN'T POSSIBLE. LOL.
