Ok then, for the sake of my family here on GFY, i'll watch the movie.

But be prepared for me to pick it apart & bring tears to some eyes

And just for the record...the only peice of shit in the same class that was even halfway enjoyable would be "The perfect storm".

Fair enough, if you see it and think it was horrible and pure exploitation then I can live with that. Although after reading your rant its hard to believe you could possibly go into the movie from an ojective standpoint.

I saw the movie yesterday afternoon. Very disappointed, don't waste your money. A ton of inaccuracy as far as I can tell.

There seemed to be an attempt at a political statement about the military being inept and communication with the executive branch impossible. Kinda went over the top on that, no matter what you believe or your political point of view.

Thought I would be all choked up about having to relive that part of US history. The film did not invoke a tear.

To the loved ones of United 93 victims, my deepest sympathies. To the makers and producers of this film . A refund would not be out of the question. People just walked out of the film without any emotion on their faces... Well other than I just blew $8 for the ticket. Maybe the popcorn and drinks were ok?

To the naysayers saying this story is inaccurate they have the ACTUAL FLIGHT RECORDER FROM FLIGHT 93 (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive...61hijack1.html) which chronicles the passengers attempt to smash into the cockpit and CELLPHONES CAN WORK AT 30,000 FEET (http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/te...air-cell_x.htm) and some of the phone calls were from IN-FLIGHT PHONES

Obviously some of the filler in the middle of this movie is probably not accurate to a tee but I find it very disturbing that such an event with as much evidence as this event has is being disputed by some really strange people on this board. I am pretty confident most people in this business are not that insane and I find the lack of support for this movie and these events on this board quite shameful. This REALLY happened people and there is a ton of evidence to prove it happened, independent people around the country were contacted by people on this flight. I dont know what some of these people in this threads agenda is but it is pretty sickening.
The families of the victims want this movie to be seen
(http://www.apple.com/trailers/univer...ook_large.html)

Those people were heroes stop fucking pissing on their memory by claiming you know better than their own family. Some of you people make me fucking disgusted.

I saw the movie. 70% of the movie revolves around the ATC's, FAA, and NORAD command centers. All of which are documented and have recordings to go off of.

The other 30% which is based on United 93 takes very little creative liberty. Almost every scene after hijacking is based on telephone calls from the people on the plane.

So yes...this thread is a worthless pile of shit.

Pretty much applicable to any movie made about any historical event so I am I to assume that you do not watch any movies about any historical event?

It's not a conspiracy...

The plane was logged at an altitude of 40k ft. when the calls started coming in..

At&t engineers and commerical pilots have said that cell phones are pretty much worthless once a plane leaves the runway.. and at best, a max of 10k ft. ..
But supposedly 13 calls made it to their destination... And I'm sure the hijackers were ok with all these folks making phone calls..

But there are those in here that know so much more than the engineers and pilots.. So it'll continue to be a conspiracy theory...

Am I to take it that you do not view movies about historical events whose subject line is that of tradgedy ie. war movies in historical times or modern times?

There are those that know so much more than the "engineers and pilots", namely those family members that received calls from flight 93. A successful call being made via cell phone is dependent upon altitude and location. I have made a few successful calls from an aircraft and some that were not successful.

Well worth watching. Several valid points among the many invalid ones. A bit heavy on the blabbering about a missile hitting the Pentagon and not a plane, but other than that it's interesting and probably more accurate than the Fox News version.

I assume you have a link that shows the time the calls were made, and logs of the altitude at that time right? Produce the links bub. I think you are full of shit.

The people of Flight 93 were heroes, no question. I do not believe this film did them justice. They deserve more. Perhaps yet another movie will be made? I don't know if that would be wise or not. Please do not mistake my comments about the victims of United 93 and the makers of this film.

I could go into the details of the inaccuracies and the unreasonableness of some of the scenes and story line. That would best be done in a conversation, not on a board. I would only extract emotional responses from people that didn't even see the film.

See the film you you want. Again, I don't think it is a fair representation of the facts. I read the reports and background information on United 93 since that horrible day. This film just doesn't cut it.

You are a liar.
I dont know what makes you think they dont work at high altitudes, the FCC had to BAN ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION above 10000 feet in fact because it would interfere with critical flight controls.

http://www.usatoday.com/travel/news/...s-planes_x.htm

Also may I remind you that there were IN FLIGHT PHONES ON UNITED 93.

I watched it - overall I thought it was a good job. I am sure some of it was BS, but remembering the events from that day is good. If you fail to stake the time to remember - and think how easy of a target we are, we will remain an easy target. If nothing else - there is value in that.

Everyone will always be an easy target, so long as we live in a free society. Its the fear mongers who feast on controlling your weak minds that win.

They bring up just how easy we can perish everyday...& everyday they take away another freedom in the cause of fighting terrorism.

As I recall from your sig you frequently get high, I dont know off of which drugs but I am pretty sure it has done some brain damage to you. You may want to do something about that. Also in your location field on your profile it says you are in the matrix, again now all your posts make sense to me.

Oh and I say these things with some sense of sadness for your life not to be mean spirited at all.

Also may I remind you that there were IN FLIGHT PHONES ON UNITED 93.
From your links...:
Cell phones usually don't work at high altitudes. When they do, they simultaneously communicate with hundreds of cell towers on the ground, clogging networks.....

Amazing for something that usually doesn't work, but 13 calls worked.. and they were supposedly calls from cell phones...

Here are some more liars for ya..

"The idea of being able to use a cellphone while flying is completely impractical. Once through about 10,000 feet, the thing is useless, since you are too high and moving too fast (and thus changing cells too rapidly) for the phone to provide a signal." (AVWeb, 1999)

..... even at the latter altitude (and below), the handoff problem appears. Any airliner at or below this altitude, flying at the normal speed of approximately 500 mph, would encounter the handoff problem (Dewdney 2003). An aircraft traveling at this speed would not be over the cellsite long enough to complete the electronic "handshake" (which takes several seconds to complete) before arriving over the next cellsite, when the call has to be handed off from the first cellsite to the next one. This also takes a few seconds, the result being, in the optimal case, a series of broken transmissions that must end, sooner or later, in failure.

Wow.. lots of liars out there..

Where the fuck is your information coming from lol? Conspiracy website no doubt if you read it on the internets it must be true! I noticed you didnt provide links lol. Here Ill even put some more proof out there for you from an impartial technical journal...

Quote:
Our research shows clearly that, in violation of FCC and FAA rules, calls are regularly made from commercial aircraft. Results from our analysis imply that calls from on board scheduled commercial aircraft in the eastern United States occur at a rate of one to four per flight. In addition, we saw other signals that suggest that at least one passenger neglects to turn off his or her cellphone on most flights.

Whether alot of it was speculation or not, I do not really care. The movie was very well done and the audience was very emotional. What really interested me was not what went down on the plane as much as the confusion between the Military and the FAA.

Make up your mind, does it have 0 to do with politics or is it about a Bush election win?

Still waiting for you link to the logs of the cell phone call times, and the logs of the altitude of the aircraft at that time. You fuckin liar....

But supposedly 13 calls made it to their destination... And I'm sure the hijackers were ok with all these folks making phone calls..

But there are those in here that know so much more than the engineers and pilots.. So it'll continue to be a conspiracy theory...

Where is the link to this information? Please post it. Prove you are not a fuckin liar.

Know what else....these movies were made DECADES after. This film was made.

This film was made for one reason & one reason only. GREEEEEED

I am a movie buff, i've seen thousands of films & i know a pile of shit when i see it. And i don't need to see the film to critique its philosophy of greed.

JFK situation is still one of the most debated events in history as to what EXACTLY really happend

Titanic....As the ship goes down, you're in the middle of fucking nowhere without a light in sight. They have NOW discovered that the ship went down in THREE pieces, not two....yet these "eye witnesses" couldnt figure that out......So really...how much of the events were REALLY accurate.

Take a movie for what its worth. Its a hollywood depiction that is MAYBE half accurate....just like the rest of these other movies.

I hate bush...i'm open to the conspiracy theories...i'd still like to see the movie. I just can't see myself bashing like you are but I'll wait to see it to make FINAL decision on that i guess
