PURE HEARTLESS GREED BULLSHIT COOKED UP FOR IGNORANT FUCKS & REDNECKS :2 cents: :2 cents: :2 cents: :2 cents:

Do you realize how many hundreds of films have been made based on actual events where the director infuses his own speculative version of events into the film? Obviously nobody knows exactly what happened in the plane, its just a movie. I have no idea why you are singling this movie out, there's hundreds of well known films like JFK, Mississippi Burning, Titanic, etc.... that are based on real events where the director has to fill in the gaps with his own version of events.

JFK hundreds of witnesses in & around the book depository, the grassy nole, SMELLED gunpowder, saw/heard shots, people etc.

Titanic - hundreds of surviving witnesses

Alive - surviving cannibals

Plane crash (supposed cellphone calls)

anyone see a common ground?

Know what else....these movies were made DECADES after. This film was made.

This film was made for one reason & one reason only. GREEEEEED

I am a movie buff, i've seen thousands of films & i know a pile of shit when i see it. And i don't need to see the film to critique its philosophy of greed.

Soounds like it might be from the producer of Open Sea. About the divers that were left at a dive site, and never found. What a fucking joke that was.

one eight 04-28-2006 10:47 PM

This is an interesting thread. I thought it was interesting that family members of the survivors were brought in as 'consultants'.

What expertise do they have?

I think it was a PR move, to cast the most sympathetic 'spokespeople' for the movie. And a pretty smart move too.

Sure, some webmaster outlaws here aren't buying it.. but the lemmings will eat this shit UP :1orglaugh

So have you seen it? Never seen a movie critique based on not seeing the movie. If you see it then still think its a pile of shit, so be it. Also, even with all the witnesses and known facts of the movies I listed, the directors still chose to be controversial and infuse their own speculative version of events. I could name 50 other notable movies where this has also occurred, its called Hollywood, no need to get all riled up over nothing.

Ok then, for the sake of my family here on GFY, i'll watch the movie.

But be prepared for me to pick it apart & bring tears to some eyes :winkwink:

And just for the record...the only peice of shit in the same class that was even halfway enjoyable would be "The perfect storm".

Fair enough, if you see it and think it was horrible and pure exploitation then I can live with that. Although after reading your rant its hard to believe you could possibly go into the movie from an ojective standpoint.

I saw the movie yesterday afternoon. Very disappointed, don't waste your money. A ton of inaccuracy as far as I can tell.

There seemed to be an attempt at a political statement about the military being inept and communication with the executive branch impossible. Kinda went over the top on that, no matter what you believe or your political point of view.

Thought I would be all choked up about having to relive that part of US history. The film did not invoke a tear.

To the loved ones of United 93 victims, my deepest sympathies. To the makers and producers of this film :321GFY. A refund would not be out of the question. People just walked out of the film without any emotion on their faces... Well other than I just blew $8 for the ticket. Maybe the popcorn and drinks were ok?

Splum 04-29-2006 12:17 PM

To the naysayers saying this story is inaccurate they have the ACTUAL FLIGHT RECORDER FROM FLIGHT 93 (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive...61hijack1.html) which chronicles the passengers attempt to smash into the cockpit and CELLPHONES CAN WORK AT 30,000 FEET (http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/te...air-cell_x.htm) and some of the phone calls were from IN-FLIGHT PHONES

Obviously some of the filler in the middle of this movie is probably not accurate to a tee but I find it very disturbing that such an event with as much evidence as this event has is being disputed by some really strange people on this board. I am pretty confident most people in this business are not that insane and I find the lack of support for this movie and these events on this board quite shameful. This REALLY happened people and there is a ton of evidence to prove it happened, independent people around the country were contacted by people on this flight. I dont know what some of these people in this threads agenda is but it is pretty sickening.
The families of the victims want this movie to be seen
(http://www.apple.com/trailers/univer...ook_large.html)

Those people were heroes stop fucking pissing on their memory by claiming you know better than their own family. Some of you people make me fucking disgusted.

Young 04-29-2006 05:27 PM

I saw the movie. 70% of the movie revolves around the ATC's, FAA, and NORAD command centers. All of which are documented and have recordings to go off of.

The other 30% which is based on United 93 takes very little creative liberty. Almost every scene after hijacking is based on telephone calls from the people on the plane.

So yes...this thread is a worthless pile of shit.

Pretty much applicable to any movie made about any historical event so I am I to assume that you do not watch any movies about any historical event?

My cellphone consipiracy aside....its still a pretty stupid film idea....point blank

It's not a conspiracy...

The plane was logged at an altitude of 40k ft. when the calls started coming in..

At&t engineers and commerical pilots have said that cell phones are pretty much worthless once a plane leaves the runway.. and at best, a max of 10k ft. ..
But supposedly 13 calls made it to their destination... And I'm sure the hijackers were ok with all these folks making phone calls.. :)

But there are those in here that know so much more than the engineers and pilots.. So it'll continue to be a conspiracy theory... :)

Am I to take it that you do not view movies about historical events whose subject line is that of tradgedy ie. war movies in historical times or modern times?

There are those that know so much more than the "engineers and pilots", namely those family members that received calls from flight 93. A successful call being made via cell phone is dependent upon altitude and location. I have made a few successful calls from an aircraft and some that were not successful.

x3guide 04-29-2006 07:33 PM

Well worth watching. Several valid points among the many invalid ones. A bit heavy on the blabbering about a missile hitting the Pentagon and not a plane, but other than that it's interesting and probably more accurate than the Fox News version.
