How come eBay hosts hardcore without 2257 docs?
We are constantly in discussion with eBay concerning copyright infringed material--eBay sellers hawking bootlegs of our content, or DVDs. These matters take several weeks to several months to resolve with eBay. The burden of proof is on the producer, so it?s a laborious process to connect the content on eBay with your own, especially when you are forced to deal with their inadequate customer service department.
Today I spent an hour finding two images from our site, with our watermark, that were the same as a couple of the images being served from eBay?s image server, posted by a seller, to prove it was our content. http://i2.ebayimg.com/04/i/06/ec/a1/77_1.JPG http://i4.ebayimg.com/02/i/06/e5/52/1e_1.JPG (you might need to be an eBay member to see them) These are our images: http://pumpster.com/eromaxx/eBay/002.jpg http://pumpster.com/eromaxx/eBay/001.jpg But why is eBay not held to the same 2257 requirements as us or anyone else? Why can they as an American company host hardcore without 2257 docs? What would happen if a ?seller? posted an older looking, underage model onto eBay? I know they don't have the docs for those pics, because they never contacted us. The issue cannot be that eBay is a BB, as we all know BBs cannot rely on the pic poster to be aligned with the regs. Anyone have any insight into this? The eBay is silent on the issue.
