Huh? Maybe you didn't read the thread, but no sweat -- I don't read long threads either.

$1,000 isn't much for software that does so much. There was no need to "cheat" the system, I was just frustrated that their phone-sales people didn't offer a cross-platform upgrade, since I had already bought the programs for Windows.

I'm glad you purchased the software. I find it amazing how many people steal all of their software then go ape shit when someone rips a password to their paysite, etc. Such hypocrites... I figure if I can't afford the software then I don't need it. If it's for business I do not hesitate to purchase it when I need it.

I use Dreamweaver MX 2004, Transmit and for text/php I use subEthaEdit.

VLC is cool but if you haven't already download flip4mac, http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win.../flip4mac.mspx

It allows you to play WMV files directly in Quicktime, much much better then VLC! Microsoft has stopped supporting Windows Media Player and recommends this solution. Which I prefer over WMP. Just like Safari kills IE for Mac.

When you went to the store to purchase Photoshop did you explain to them that you're on the new Intel processor? Because I wasn't aware they've come out with the version of Photoshop that is optimized for the Intel chip. If it's not it will slow your system almost to a crawl because it will run through an emulator.

(PS: I'm a Mac user and love them... I've purchased at least 7 new Macs in the last 18 months)

He is right. You need to run the "Universal" versions for them to work right on the Intel Macs.

Most of the Macromedia & Adobe apps are currently being recompiled to work for the dual core systems.

Bingo! If you steal from others, you can't bitch when people steal from YOU.

Flip4mac doesn't work on the Intel processors -- unless you know something I don't! The installer won't even run. It says the new version is coming "soon" -- it's been quite a while.

No, because they are clueless at CompUSA. They tried to sell me the Windows version.

It runs fine on my machine.

Haha, I just ignore it. If they want to live in the dark ages, let them. Until a couple of weeks ago, I used to make fun of Mac users -- I was so ignorant. I can man up and admit it, though.

Bootcamp is NOT an emulator, you are RUNNING Windows XP... There is no reason to try anything, it is Windows XP.

Seriously, it won't for long. They newly coded products come out at near the end of the year. Then Photoshop will be faster than you can imagine. But believe me when I tell you that in just a few weeks using the current Mac version of Photoshop will become a pain in the ass. It will literally crawl slower than anything you've ever used.

No worries... but don't be frustrated when you have to go spend the $$ on the software again. This is one of the things that people were warned about by Apple and Apple watch blogs.

They are going to intentionally break the software? That sucks.

There's a cheap Universal Upgrade too, I think it's like $99 or something silly like that.

I don't know what version of DW you had but I installed DW8 on both my Mac and the PC I use for checking stats with StatsRemote.

Oh wow... I didn't think of that. I'm still on a 17" G4 Powerbook. It will be a little while before I upgrade to Intel. I want all of this sorted out first.

Yeah, hehe, I had no idea it was going to be a problem at all. Now that I'm immersed in it, I can see the issue.

With all due respect, are you out of your mind? Windows is a joke compared to OSX. Granted apple has not always made the msot stable product up untill recently but regardless, the software and OS is optimized for the processor, which windows is not. No matter how much you tweak windows, it will run slower, run the same apps slower everything (unless you have the windows source code and you modify it) My point is, OSX is based on unix. Unix kicks ass, and further more, I work in photoshop and video editing programs daily, and the mac runs both so much smoother then my desktop pc which is a Athlon 4400 64bit X2 with 4 gigs of ram running windows xp 64. OSX and Mac is the way to go. Its the future pimpin. Also BTW Mac's newest laptop runs xp faster then any other laptop in the world. Ain't that a bitch

It's much better, trust me. I have 2 PCs that I do use, but my Dual G5 is much better than any Windows machine. It's my first Mac, so I'm not a fanatic. Just realistic. Try it for a week and let us know.
