Digital SLR - Canon or Nikon? which model

I know this question has been asked a lot but the technology changes...

Im looking for recommendations as to either a Canon or Nikon as an entry level SLR... I dont have any lenses etc so compatibility with existing equipment is not a consideration

They are both top notch. You can't go wrong either brand.

Canon's XT sounds what you're looking for or the Nikon D50.

Dood, I used to be the worst camera freak when I was younger. Picture a "camera nerd", that was me -- -- I had Tenba bags that cost more than most people's "bodies" and silk-sockies for my Zeiss's. But then it hit me one day... "Man, all this shit is tying you down, Dog!

Yer comin' out here, in all this beautiful nature and shit, but you ain't enjoyin' yerself, and the pictures that yer bringing home show it..."

So, now I just use cameras that are easy in the extreme and don't make ya wince to think of ever leavin' them at a restaurant or somethin'.

Use to use a Nikon D100, solid camera, can pick them up cheap on ebay now that the D200 are out. Personally I'll stick with my D2X It's amazing.

They're both good brands so you're never going to get a straight answer. It's up to you to decide.
