Very Nice. Good choice. I have '88 Gibson Les Paul Standard with a VOX valvetronix. Les Pauls are awesome as many know but these VOX amps really kick ass too! Great diversity in sounds, much better than the Line6 if you ask me. These amps sound more natural than most. Enjoy!!

Be careful with your S.G. and all Gibsons for that matter. My drummer knocked my S.G. off its stand....it slowly hit the ground and the kneck shattered into 30 pieces...I was crying...but it did give me an excuse to buy a Les Paul....

Gibson headstocks can break easily if banged around because of the angle but hey just take care of it. I have played the crap out of my Les Paul for almost 20 years, traveled with it, gigged, etc. No issues other than buckle rash and such.

An all time classic guitar that will only be more valuable.

I am going to get a Epiphone Firebird in a week. I didn't have the extra 1500 to spend on the gibson version, so I said fuck it and I am going with the epiphone.

Not really. He'd also need a Marshal JTM-45 to play "Back in black" like its supposed to sound.

Like one of these:

Epiphones are fine guitars. I only have problems with the tuning pegs on mine - they feel cheap.

I started using Epis awhile back because I got tired of beating the shit out of some very expensive guitars on stage. Never had a problem with my Epiphones.

My favourite was a cheap little Epiphone Les Paul Jr that cost me about $150. The bloody thing was a tank.

I play them through a Fender Hot Rod DeVille.

Thanks...it's an Ibanez Prestige series guitar. The specific model is the RGT220ANTF. The case puts all other cases to shame too...super nice and totally snug, form-fitting.

It's "unfinished" so it's not neccessarily ideal for playing small clubs or parties where it might encounter a dousing with a bubbly beverage.

I saw the Jr. It was aight. I have heard good things, and for 99$ it's like WTF. Just get one heheh. So I may have to get one of those too.

I own these two guitars and this amp and cab...

Gibson Les Paul Standard. 1989. Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck and '59 pickups.

Fender Telecaster. 2005.

Marshall JCM900 4500, with a Marshall 1936 2x12" (PLENTY Loud and with the same speakers as, but more portable than the 1960A 4x12's")

I have a Telecaster. It's cool, I just wanted something with a different sound. But the Tele is a solid guitar.

Yeah, my tele is gorgeous, and sounds beautiful.... but the Gibson is my baby and has been for some time... don't think I'll ever part with it... I play the tele maybe 5% of the time I play guitar

Through the tube amp Marshall, they both sound fucking supreme

Nice axe and amp. I have played for about 25 years now and you cant go wrong with a Gibson. I am currently tossed between an SG or a new Carvin as my NON back-breaker next guitar. I bought 2 new Gibsons over the last few years and I cant get used to that rounded 59 neck they are putting on the new ones.

Heres my current setup.....

81 Les Paul standard-70's stratocaster-mid 80's Charvel.... All loaded with Seymour Duncan pickups. And 2 Mesa Boogie Maverick amps run in stereo.
