GUNNER 04-19-2006 06:36 AM

I used to own an original VOX, and like an IDIOT I sold it for a few hundred dollars. Biggest mistake.

Nicky 04-19-2006 06:39 AM

I have a Hughes & Kettner vortex 100w top with a hughes & kettner 4x12" box and a Ibanez RG 470 guitar, works for me.

BluewireAngie 04-19-2006 06:42 AM

Cooooool!!!!!
Gibson's BEST!!!!!
:) :) :) :)

WebairGerard 04-19-2006 06:45 AM

Very Nice. Good choice. I have '88 Gibson Les Paul Standard with a VOX valvetronix. Les Pauls are awesome as many know but these VOX amps really kick ass too! Great diversity in sounds, much better than the Line6 if you ask me. These amps sound more natural than most. Enjoy!!

Screaming 04-19-2006 07:01 AM

Cool axe man.

GFX Wiz 04-19-2006 07:08 AM

Nice gear, Nylz.

I recently picked up one of these:
http://www.ibanez.com/guitars/zoom/RGT220ANTF.jpg

to go along with my:

http://www.fender.com/new_repository...Soloist_md.jpg

I play through a Marshall MG100DFX. It kills.

Nice stuff Nylz, but can you play on it also....:winkwink:

Bryan G 04-19-2006 07:29 AM

Nice Guitar Nylz!!!

hitinface 04-19-2006 07:40 AM

Be careful with your S.G. and all Gibsons for that matter. My drummer knocked my S.G. off its stand....it slowly hit the ground and the kneck shattered into 30 pieces...I was crying...but it did give me an excuse to buy a Les Paul....

Hitinface

WebairGerard 04-19-2006 08:05 AM

Gibson headstocks can break easily if banged around because of the angle but hey just take care of it. I have played the crap out of my Les Paul for almost 20 years, traveled with it, gigged, etc. No issues other than buckle rash and such.

An all time classic guitar that will only be more valuable.

tenderobject 04-19-2006 08:07 AM

fucking nice. i want to have that vox amp for my baby :)

wielco 04-19-2006 08:08 AM

those things are worth quite a few bucks nowadays!

Azlord 04-19-2006 08:56 AM

I am going to get a Epiphone Firebird in a week. I didn't have the extra 1500 to spend on the gibson version, so I said fuck it and I am going with the epiphone.

Not really. He'd also need a Marshal JTM-45 to play "Back in black" like its supposed to sound.

Like one of these:

Epiphones are fine guitars. I only have problems with the tuning pegs on mine - they feel cheap.

I started using Epis awhile back because I got tired of beating the shit out of some very expensive guitars on stage. Never had a problem with my Epiphones.

My favourite was a cheap little Epiphone Les Paul Jr that cost me about $150. The bloody thing was a tank.

I play them through a Fender Hot Rod DeVille.

Congrats on your new toy.

Thanks...it's an Ibanez Prestige series guitar. The specific model is the RGT220ANTF. The case puts all other cases to shame too...super nice and totally snug, form-fitting.

It's "unfinished" so it's not neccessarily ideal for playing small clubs or parties where it might encounter a dousing with a bubbly beverage.

I saw the Jr. It was aight. I have heard good things, and for 99$ it's like WTF. Just get one heheh. So I may have to get one of those too.

I own these two guitars and this amp and cab...

Gibson Les Paul Standard. 1989. Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck and '59 pickups.

Fender Telecaster. 2005.

Marshall JCM900 4500, with a Marshall 1936 2x12" (PLENTY Loud and with the same speakers as, but more portable than the 1960A 4x12's")

I have a Telecaster. It's cool, I just wanted something with a different sound. But the Tele is a solid guitar.

Twisted Dave 04-19-2006 11:39 AM

Yeah, my tele is gorgeous, and sounds beautiful.... but the Gibson is my baby and has been for some time... don't think I'll ever part with it... I play the tele maybe 5% of the time I play guitar :)

Through the tube amp Marshall, they both sound fucking supreme :)

SongRider 04-19-2006 12:01 PM

Nice axe and amp. I have played for about 25 years now and you cant go wrong with a Gibson. I am currently tossed between an SG or a new Carvin as my NON back-breaker next guitar. I bought 2 new Gibsons over the last few years and I cant get used to that rounded 59 neck they are putting on the new ones.

Heres my current setup.....http://www.kanigokreations.com/ebaypics/keepers.jpg

81 Les Paul standard-70's stratocaster-mid 80's Charvel.... All loaded with Seymour Duncan pickups. And 2 Mesa Boogie Maverick amps run in stereo.

Joe BrainCash 04-19-2006 12:12 PM

I got a p-bass. We should jam one day. The band would be called GFY.

elitetec 04-19-2006 12:38 PM

Hollywood Horwitz 04-19-2006 02:06 PM
