What's the best spam filter?

I am SOOOOOOOOOO sick of all of this damn spam. I am not normally one to complain but when it is getting out of control for me, enough is enough dammit!!!

I have been using Ihatespam for a long time, but that thing has become unstable on a good day, on a bad, it won't filter the spam right, let's spam thru and kills the ones I want.... it just simply won't fucking listen to me anymore. LOL

So what do you use for Spam Filtering? I use Outlook Express as my mail client.

And do not tell me to create message rules, that has gotten out of control too. lol

Oh yeah, and the first one that says "Format C:" is going to get a beating like no other. lmao

If you are on a Cpanel server I would recommend utilizing the Boxtrapper feature.
Short of that you might use Spamarrest(I believe that is teh name) similar to the Cpanel boxtrapper, but ran by a third party. I have never used them because I didn't want to be reliant on a third party for my mail. Then Cpanel released their Boxtrapper and it has been a real treat and totally effective.

I used regular filters before but they just got too slow and unreliable.

That's my problem.... I have been using this for a long time, but it's become really unstable lately. I'll look into the Cpanel thing and see what I can find out in there. And I am with you, I don't like those things that are third party like that, where I have to hit a link to confirm my email is valild.. and on MY end as well, they are irritating. lol

I am fortunately is that my company filters all my company emails for spam before sending them to me at my real address - zero spam and I only get emails from companies I have signed up for.

Switch to Thunderbird. Each email you receive passes through Thunderbird's leading-edge junk mail filters. Each time you mark messages as spam, Thunderbird improves its filtering. Thunderbird will also use your mail provider's spam filters to keep junk mail out of your inbox.

Been a long time user of Outlook and after trying Thunderbird, there is no turning back for me.

TRUST me, you don't even want to go there. It takes a LOT of spam to get me irritated, normally I just delete them and move on. But it has been so bad lately that I can't find the good emails for the spam. We're talking 1000s per day at this point. lol A few 100 and I am ok, just delete...... but when it takes me an hour a day or more JUST to delete spam, it's annoying.

Hmm, I'll give that a shot. I am SO damn picky about my email program and I hate trying new ones, it's SUCH a pain to set them all back up. I have so many damn email addys to contend with.

Oh a few hundred is a good day I'm more like at 1 to 2k spams a day. After 7 years of domain emails and all - everything now goes through spamarrest and it does a great job. I had actually given up opening outlook at one point.
