Can you people recall some REAL success stories of sites/people with REALLY innovative/new ideas?
I hear people say - "be unique - dont copy - it pays off" all the time.
I am starting to doubt that ;)
I mean - all big paysites look-alike..
So maybe we can salvage the lost dignity of innovation by recalling some examples?

well, the adult online industry is rather unique by itself.... if you look at the mainstream world, most business existed in the real world first, and then expanded to the web...

whereas we, on the other hand, are born, live, eat, shit, sleep, and (as witnessed with spacedog) die, all on the Net.... that, in my opinion, is a much more difficult task to accomplish successfully, even though it may APPEAR to be easier.

Yes, it's cheaper to get started, and virtualy anyone can be in business on the web tomorrow if they really want to.... but the competition on the net is enormous because of this.

Not all survive.... but nevertheless, the damage is already done simply by the sheer numbers of people making the attempt.

So... what does that mean in relation to your topic? It means.... unique? Fuck that.... you gotta be SUPER unique today if you wanna be around tomorrow. And that may come in different forms... not necessarily looking different than everyone else.... but maybe, more tightly networked, more branching directions, etc..... just having a unique concept by itself does not guarantee overnight success. It must be stroked, and caressed, and loved, and nurtured, and fondled for it to grow into a massive all-encompasing evil dark empire that reigns supreme over the entire land.

I agree you cant just fart out a unique idea and hope it succede without hard work - but is working hard on a unique idea pays off MORE than lets say working hard on a new TGP?

let's see, i gave you the example of SD since you seem to work on tgps according to your signature. It's among the very few and possible the only tgp that has a sets of pics with erotic stories. This brings it more to printed porn magazines. For the tgps it's an innovation. (for you:just another tgp)

If i'm right Xapster was the 1st that made preview thumb of each gallery posted on his tgp. That is another innovasion. Small, but something he created and now many use it also. (for you:just another tgp)

You fail to see the unique idea of bangbus....you know it's real..... (for you:just another paysite)

Yes.

There are 1000's of tgp's which means you have to compete with 1000's of other entities.

If you have -1- unique idea you are your only competition so your only real concern is promotion for that -1- unique idea.

This all hinges on having a GOOD unique idea. Unique and good don't always go hand in hand.

I don't think you are extremely stupid so you know this already.

But what I mean is - TODAY, TGPs are nothing new - If there is any TGP out there who made it today (last month) because of his innovative approach - that would be nice

SD - is a cool TGP. theHun - doubly so. They are successful and rich and noone can/tries-to take that away. And I had no intentions to contradict thier coolness...

I agree - The FIRST TopList, the FIRST TGP were worthy inovations.
About AdultCheck - ye AVS was a GREAT idea. IFriends too - agree. Though I've heard they dont do that greate nowadays.

Im not saying that innovation is "holy". I dont give a fuck actually. ppl are here to make money (and enjoy themselves while at it

) - Im just picking on the tone of some posts saying "Dont immitate - innovate" and I wonder if it really pays off

Iactually think that being innovative as as important as being the best at something [and it can help you be so more easily])
