They can examine your colon if they really wish to.

Right now they are asking, keep refusing and if they really want them they will audit you or serve you with a warrant.

The IRS has no power to tell you to do anything. Even when they tell you to pay your taxes, you dont have too. Tell them to go fuck themselves, and that whether you pay taxes or not is also none of their business.

If you run a corporation within the United States you had best pay your company taxes. The law clearly states corporations doing business within the corporation of the United States must pay taxes. The hahaha8220;half asshahaha8221; loophole is it doesnhahaha8217;t say a person, a natural person, doesnhahaha8217;t have to pay taxeshahaha8230; Lots of shit, best not to play in that area unless you are very up on what to do.

However, that doesnhahaha8217;t mean you have to let them bully you around. Get a lawyer, even advice helps. Then, you may want to decide if worth the possible fight. They can be assholes and corporations have no real power over the IRS.

i doubt that want to 'see your stats'.. thats irrelevant to them.

"after some investigation we noticed you made $534 the last year at pornmegaboobscash.com.. what happened with this income stream?"

The tax guy doesnt have time for bullshit like that.

For fuck sake don't listen to some advice on this thread samsam

If you think they are really "hawking" you - get an agent/CPA.

Same the world over - tax authorities can investigate anything they want and ask for evidentiary docs. Tho you may not have under-declared, they are entitled to evidence of this - including how many cartons of milk you consume in a week and how you paid for this.

no because the affiliate is based in europe and they didnt ask

cant believe they want to see the stats, esp as if they did get a warrant to see them they would be sorely disappointed. i hardly have any earnings with the affiliate but its none of their business anyway.

actually, if im honest, im just trying to save face

If the IRS comes after you they're going to want to see bank statements, not affiliate stats.

Best advice here is to get an accountant or lawyer or both to deal with this for you. Don't even talk to them if the accountant or lawyer is not with you.

Don't have jurisdiction as such - but they sure have cause to check US taxpayers are actually making full declaration of international revenue sources.

There is some irony (in particular re the US) when a US citizen does not live within the US, (eg may be a resident of another country) - they still want annual filings of worldwide income and taxes can be payable on this back in the US.

Get an attorney that specializes in tax/audit scenarios. If the IRS wants something, they are likely asking because they have reason to believe it will lead to undeclared income. We just finished an audit and they went through everything. Give them what they want if you have nothing to hide, otherwise it can go on for a long time. Better still, get representation.

only two things in life are certain. Death and Taxes. with that in mind, IRS can make you wish that you were dead. Show them the fucking stats, and get it over with.

And asking for advice on a forum that any one can read, could cost you more than its worth.

What did the irs say about selling porn? Are they weirded out by it? I know it's perfectly legal, but I just thought it would be awkward explaining about "stats" and "sponsors" to anyone, let alone IRS. I would have nervous breakdown during the interview.

I'm already anti social so talking to any stranger about just about anything would give me a breakdown already, but explaining porn would just be so much worse.

thanks you just hit the nail on the head right there.

the affiliate in question is a footjob sponsor and the affiliate stats page is full of feet and cumshots. i dont think i can actually show that to the IRS.

It's just a biz jackie Tax folks are only interested in $'s and proper accounting - and normally there would be no "interview" without an agent/lawyer/accountant present.

Only my based on past experiences with em - it's down to the investigating agent bottom line. Some think "porn merchants" hide millions under the bed and they are on to something. They usually find *something* to claim, but if the accounting is correctly - it's usually peanuts.

The IRS could give a fuck if you're selling porn, drugs, whatever. All they care about is collecting tax.

I wouldn't hand over my affiliate stats, but I'd hand over the equivalent. Namely, invoices from every period from those sponsors. In the case of an audit, they do have the right to look at your income sources. But if you're in an audit situation, I wouldn't go without a kickass attorney and accountant.

If you don't have anything to hide, why are you sweating? Show them the stats, and move on... but better yet, get a lawyer to advice you on these issues, will save you a lot of headaches and money....

Never fuck with the US Government. To show you their power. >>>>

Government lawyers tried to confiscate the gold tooth caps known as "grills" from the mouths of two men facing drug charges, saying the dental work qualified as seizable assets. They had them in a vehicle headed to a dental clinic by the time defense attorneys persuaded a judge to halt the procedure.

"I've been doing this for over 30 years and I have never heard of anything like this," said Richard J. Troberman, a past president of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. "It sounds like Nazi Germany when they were removing the gold teeth from the bodies, but at least then they waited until they were dead."

Prosecutors had a warrant to seize the gold dental work, according to documents and lawyers involved in the case. But they eventually abandoned the effort, saying they mistakenly thought the grills were removable.

The customized tooth caps, popularized by rappers such as Nelly, are made of precious metals and jewels and can cost thousands of dollars for a full set. Some can be snapped onto the teeth, while others are permanently bonded to the teeth.

Flenard T. Neal Jr. and Donald Jamar Lewis both have permanently bonded grills, their lawyers said.

Neal and Lewis, both charged with several drug and weapon violations, were taken Tuesday from the Federal Detention Center to the U.S. marshal's office, where they were told the government had a warrant to seize the grills. They called their lawyers as they were about to be taken to a dentist, said Miriam Schwartz, Neal's public defender.

Sounds about right KRL.

There are loads of laws used to justify almost *anything*. There was the old blue-rise hair lady who got $10K "confiscated" off her while on Amtrack. (There is some bylaw where a "govt officer" can just seize money when it's $10K or more from any passenger travelling on Amtrack). She is still waiting for the funds to be returned - and no indictment on any offense for the last eight years since this happened.

It's much nicer to not live under a regime like that.

I hope for your sake you have been 1099ing your affiliates! I don't think that you would need to show them something without a subpoena. My advice, though, is to use good accountants and have all communications directed to them or legal counsel. lol

There is only one post in this entire thread with the correct answer. Since you ignored it I'll post it once more to do you a favor. If you ignore it again, your loss, enjoy federal pound you in the ass prison ;)

What you need for this situation is an Enrolled Agent.

Relate to what? The IRS will have full rights to know *anything* they need to know in connecting with tax payment compliance and auditing of records. It's a matter of they ask, - you answer (whether thru an agent or not). Give the wrong answer or lie and the problems start.

Sure, tax audits are basically using banking data and accounting papers to reconcile fund movements - and any other info which may be useful.

You'd be surprised how things start to get more meaningful and "relate" when there is reason to believe there is a problem or information has come from third parties.

Agree - It's never wise to play games without professional guidance.

If there are deliberate bullshit figures on tax filings, including the old ATM cash withdrawals of un-declared revenue and the tax regime is not to your liking - get the hell out to a tax-free country. It's a much nicer lifestyle

Don't laugh... One revenue agent actually thought he was going to claim the ownership of domain names were "assets" and those had an appreciating value Suppose he had to try.

Stats? That's nothing! They will count your weekly milk bills and hell knows what else to establish a standard of living if they want.
