No, not the way I understand it. They still get the full amount of time to get their application in order.

how do you know they are yours?

Egomancer 04-07-2006 05:32 AM

Well, they were free, I registered them through eurodns and after that they show as taken. The logic says that I got them :)

I got billed...which means that there are like 95% chances to have them

Brujah 04-07-2006 05:56 AM

This could easily fuel a lot of new domain buyers into the market, looking to pickup .com versions of their new .eu names also.. and of course a small percentage of lawsuits.

That doesn't mean the domain is yours. It means if eurodns gets the domain name out of the thousands of other registrars with lists of preregs a mile high, then the domain name is likely yours unless the owner or close associated of eurodns have their eye on it.

Egomancer 04-07-2006 06:07 AM

It is said that eurodns updates the database directly (normally would be that the first entry in the database is the one that takes the domain). Which means that eurodns has preemption rights on the other registrars. So the domains should be taken since eurodns are the database owners.

What I hate the most is that I let space.eu go. I want to shoot myself for this :(

breaker 04-07-2006 06:12 AM

Who the hell is " B.H.M. van der Heijden" taking all my good domains.

Egomancer 04-07-2006 06:16 AM

Lol, maybe he is a fellow GFY-er, who knows..

Egomancer

Rolo 04-07-2006 06:17 AM

Whois.eu is up

Egomancer 04-07-2006 06:21 AM

Down for me now...I suppose that are too many requests right now...

Egomancer

Egomancer 04-07-2006 06:26 AM

Fuck, someone else submitted my domain. Now what the fuck do I do? I suppose I will receive an reinbursement...

Egomancer

Egomancer 04-07-2006 06:29 AM

Man, wtf,

So I registered a domain through eurodns.com and on whois it appears as available. 2 other are taken by someone else... WTF...

Egomancer

Brujah 04-07-2006 06:30 AM

None of mine with Eurodns are confirmed yet either.

Egomancer 04-07-2006 06:33 AM

the problem is that someone else registered my domains, how can this happen?

I pre-registered mine too with other registrars.. but I tried them all with Euro this morning also.

Egomancer 04-07-2006 06:36 AM

So basically the guys just made an internal list with the domians and when the registration openend they registered them?

I tried to register the motherfucker domains AFTER the registration process started so I do not see why the retards did not update the whois database in the second I registered the domains with them...

Egomancer

mkx 04-07-2006 06:40 AM

i dont think eurodns had priority over any other registrars. its first come first serve

Czech 04-07-2006 06:41 AM

Officially I have ADULTX.eu

Yes I 100% have ADULTX.eu :thumbsup

I will be parking it on Sedo over the weekend BUT if there are any serious buyers make me an offer!

Egomancer 04-07-2006 06:51 AM

ok,

but then why the fuck a domain I registered with tehm is free on whois? this means that the guys don;t try to register my domain, right?

Egomancer

Brujah 04-07-2006 06:57 AM

That's probably right, Egomancer.

I see Snapnames picked up a fair amount. I didn't even see .EU on Snapnames site. Did you ?

Egomancer 04-07-2006 07:03 AM

Yeah,

I want to say that I feel scammed. I mean I payed the money and the guys don't try to register the domains I payed for - this is not good... I mean I can understand that someone can be quicker, but at least you should try...

A lot of EuroDNS and Dotster clients are going to be heartbroken today.

Egomancer 04-07-2006 07:19 AM

I have the same feeling :)

And furthermore, I can not get a refund or something to buy some other domains that are free...

Egomancer

Brujah 04-07-2006 07:22 AM

You guys did realize that there's no refund if they don't get the names right? Not much incentive for them to even try.

Dotster preregistration was free

Egomancer 04-07-2006 07:24 AM

Well,

I mean they have posted on their page that if I cancel the order BEFORE they try to register then I can apply for some other sites. Which means that I have to get a refund.
If they would have tried to register the domains, they would have registered the ones that are still free...

Egomancer 04-07-2006 07:41 AM

Egomancer

Egomancer 04-07-2006 07:44 AM

I got ONE domain...

itmarket.eu :)

Officially is mine

Egomancer

Brujah 04-07-2006 08:22 AM

Looks like I got ifinishedreadingdavincicodebeforeeurodnsregistered mynames.eu

Fabien 04-07-2006 08:54 AM

do you know why i will never register with extention different than .net .com ?

Well .net/.com can't be banned

.xxx
.ca
.usa
.eu etc can easily be

They can't be all .com/.net names

Gerco 04-07-2006 08:59 AM

I would be interested in p.eu :)

e-god 04-07-2006 09:34 AM

.eu will be just a little more bigger thing than .us
thats all, people are used to coms and nets

European Lee 04-07-2006 10:34 AM

Update...

I just logged in to my EuroDNS account and it looks like about 1/2 of the domains that were showing in their this morning before i went to bed no longer are!!!

Something funky is going on here with EuroDNS!

Regards,

Lee

sfera 04-07-2006 10:36 AM

Day 1, and there are almost the same amount of .eu vs .us domains:

.us = 998,341
.eu = 990,712

Ofcourse it will not continue to grow at this rate, but the EU does have 450+ millione people, and one of the biggest economies in the world. Do not think it will have a great impact on adult domains, but companies in the EU will use the .eu TLD alot more than US companies will use .us.

polish_aristocrat 04-07-2006 10:44 AM

ok, seems like i didnt get anything.

nothing strange with it, since i aimed only for the obvious best names that were still free after sunrise, but still i pre-registered about 25 with Dotster and they assured me all is fine

so im truly disappointed that i didnt get a single one of that list

at 11 am when it opened i tried regging them also with NameCheap but NameCheap sysem was fucked, and it didnt allow me to get the free .eu names into the shopping cart.

So although .eu wasnt a priority thing for me, im definitely disappointed.
I had even more luck in the .info landrush, although back then i pre-ordered
names with about 20 different companies.

Now i'll try to get sure what will happen with the unsuccesfull sunrise trademark claims and try to grab some names left from that pool.

polish_aristocrat 04-07-2006 10:45 AM

oh and B.H.M. van der Heijden must have many domains

he has 3 or 4 from my list of 25 names

congrats to him, whoever it is

FuqALot 04-07-2006 10:50 AM

van der heijden is some firm from the netherlands. i read somewhere they registered over 800 domains, or at least tried to.

one of the very few good domains i already see loading is www.onlinepoker.eu

European Lee 04-07-2006 10:51 AM

What is interesting though is that EuroDNS is still showing this in my account for some of those 'missing' domains...

Quote:

The licensee can no longer be updated as the following data has already been used to create the licensee handle at the registry:
It then lists my correct info for the domain.

Lee

You used multiple registrars?

Okay another update..

Looks like they add the domains to your account while the 'approval'(perhaps?) process is happening then remove them if you werent quick enough.

I lost about 64 of the ones i had shown as reg'd however i now have this message showing in my account at EuroDNS...

Quote:

The successfully registered domains will be finalised and added to your account within the next few days.
Dont know, they were all reg'd at the same time yet it looks like some of them were removed and others werent, something smells fishy to me but at least i have about 1/2 of the ones i reg'd including a bunch of WM related domains, the ones i was really interested in so, im happy, for the time being at least.

Regards,

Lee

KRL 04-07-2006 11:05 AM

From what I'm gathering so far, the guys with major domain portfolios are on the sidelines with this. Just so everyone knows.

Don't get too caught up in the hoopla.
