Basic American rights. More specifically, its the base of the problem. Our leaders are representing the wishes of people that are here illegally over those that are citizens.

Those leaders consist of governement officials, teachers, superintendents, etc.

Sad, but true.

Very standard.

If you can't grasp this simple fact, I think I'm wasting my time with you.
So because your grandparents beat some other people to the U.S. you get to partake in the American Dream but these desperately poor mexicans can fuck off. That's not the principles this country was founded on. When your grandparents came the books were wide open and getting citizenship was as easy as checking into a hotel. Make it that way again.

Ever occur to you that maybe no one was wearing American Flag apparel until this whole thing started, and now they are specifically wearing it to start conflicts and cause problems? So, if it provides a safer environment for the students, specifically those not trying to cause problem and actually get an education, by temporarily not allowing the items into the school that are causing the problems, then I think it's fine to ban those items for the time being. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that they are wearing the flags to start fights with the Mexicans at their school.

Law is law. My grandparents did it legally. Period. This country was founded on LAWS and RULES. Those have changed over the years.

You are trying to make a point like:

Well, in 1925, drunk driving wasn't illegal, so I can get smashed off tequila now and shouldn't be arrested for driving under the influence, because our laws used to be different.

Like I said, if you want into "my" country, you have to play by the rules. The same way if I want to go to the Philippines, I have to play by theirs (I use that as an example because I go there often nowadays).

Yes, I admit that has occured to me. But I also admit that I had shirts with US flags or symbols on them when I went to school years ago, and no way in hell was someone in THIS country going to tell me I coulnd't wear it. And there was not any "tension" then, and I didn't do it to get a rise out of a Mexican. I did it cause I loved my country, and still do.

Anyone can come to this country, just do it legally.

I agree illegal immigration is wrong, but it is inevitable where you have such economic discrepancy between neighboring countries. I advocate changing the rules. Do you wish to make it easier or more difficult to get citizenship in "your" country?

I totally agree with you that it is wrong. I even moreso agree with you that it is inevitable.

I wish to make it easier for immigrants to LEGALLY come into "my" country. Seriously.

It's very easy to understand. That's why your right wing pundit heroes focus on that, so simpletons don't get confused by the bigger, more complicated picture.

Immigrants have a lot to offer to the US. I firmly believe that. But as much as they have to offer, they should do it legally. Take the tests, get their work visas, live here, raise families here, get the American Dream.

I'm all for it.

Just take the steps that they have to do it the right way.

Its not right wing or left wing to me. It is common sense. Laws - Abide by them, or leave (or get deported).

Wow, you should go straight to Washington D.C. and let them know they are all wasting their time, cuz it's so fucking cut and dry. You will be doing the whole country a huge service and saving so much time and debate in Congress.

Also, since you are so strongly supportive of the law, you should stop going to restaurants, cuz I am more the sure that pretty much every restaurant in San Diego has illegals working there, and since you are eating there, you are supporting them, thereby helping them break the law.

Also, don't stay in any Hotels anywhere in CA, because almost all of them also have illegals working there, and if you stayed there, you'd be helping to support them break the law.

Oh and on your way up to Portland, take down those signs that warn you about Mexican Families running across the road, because they are illegal anyway and therefore don't deserve our tax dollars to be spent on signs to help protect their lives.

It's probably best if you just stay inside your house, going outside may in fact be helping illegals to break the law.

Your Country wasn't even your country to begin with, Your forefathers ALL
were immigrants, most even illegal immigrants. Most of the immigrants that
come over are from countries that your goverment has whored out completely
from national resources to their complete economies. No wonder these people
come to the US. After all the US took whatever was theirs at some point

Then in a lot of ways we're in agreement. I think were we differ is how much reverence we have for immigration law. I'm willing to cut these "lawbreakers" some slack because of what motivtes them to commit their "crime." You seem to put them in a higher class of criminal.

I will do that in so many ways, indirectly. My next vote for government officials will carry more weight on how they view this problem, and how they plan on dealing with it. Its the great thing about being American. I can help elect a representative for me, that will push to accomplish things I believe in. Although many of the politicians are interested in just lining their pockets, I still believe in the system and the hope that it can always get better.

Yeah, I do, and I'm not even here saying they are felons. Far from it.

I'm not ignorant. I know why they are here, they want a better life for their family, better education for their kids, better health services, safer enviornments. I get all that. I want them to have all that. Seriously. I just want it all done right.

What do I know though... oh well.

When the government gets pushed hard enough, any government, it will either topple, or change.

I hope the final result is the later...

Um, no, I am white as white can be... and I am not offended at all. I just know the difference between Opinion and Fact. What I see as opinion, you see as fact. You have a very one-sided view of things.

I just felt like you thought I was insulting you. I want to make it clear that I wasn't, and if you took it that way at all, please accept my apology.

I wouldn't say I have a one-sided view of this topic at all. I have a strong belief about it indeed. No doubt there. I see both sides. I understand a Mexicans need and want to be here in the US. I understand why they take the risk to get here. I understand that a lot of the money they earn gets sent back to Mexico. I understand many of these things.

All I ask is that if they are going to be here, one, do it legally. Like I said before, I welcome any and all immigrants that want to contribute to this counrty as a whole. Just take the proper steps and make a positive influence on the economy and the country as a whole.

So what should happen to the companies that hired illegals? You say they take away jobs from Americans, ruin the economy, etc etc. They're also partaking in illegal activity. It seems to me one can make a good case for treason. Since we can't "send them back", would you be willing to lock them up in prison for their misdeeds?

Keyword, LEGALLY.
I appologize that I called you an Idiot earlier. You are not an idiot you are just a HYPOCRIT.. a gawd damn Gino! now all your bulloas starting to make sense to me

It's "my" country, because I am a citizen. I vote, I pay my taxes, I abide by the law, I support and love the freedoms given to me. And I want all GINOS sent back to Italy I hate all immigrants that are colored people. My grandparents DID NOT jump through the legal hoops cause there wasn't any such hoops in those days and til late 60s to become citizens. My grandparents were just as uneducated as these illegal mexicans today and they also worked hard just as these illegals today so they could have a better future for their kids and grand kids so they in turn can become HYPOCRITS and shoot their mouth on gfy later. Meanwhile my grandparents still claim to be Itallians and make fun of even "white" Americans (I don't know what's wrong with them). God help us all. Amen.

?When immigrants come in there are more business opportunities and more firms are created,? Study finds.

Article talks out it's ass

"Many economists agree that undocumented aliens reduce wages for the least skilled native-born workers,"

Ok so which is it? Then it says

"One intriguing study even suggests that the huge influx of immigrants since 1980 has boosted the average wage of U.S.-born workers by about 2 percent, partly by spurring additional capital investment."

WOW a whole 2% in 26 years. So that worker in 1980 can expect to double his pay in the year 2916.

then it says

"George Borjas, a professor at Harvard?s Kennedy School of Government, who is probably the most respected economist studying the issue, says the surge in immigration ? both legal and illegal ? has reduced wages across the earnings spectrum by an average of 3 percent. The biggest impact has been on U.S.-born men who lack a high school diploma, who have seen their wages depressed wages by nearly 9 percent, he found."

Says in the conclusion:

?It?s unclear how many Americans are really, truly displaced by illegal aliens,? said Nariman Behravesh, chief economist for Global Insight. ?To me it?s kind of a red herring.?

"Immigrant labor makes a wide range of services more affordable and generally raises the standard of living", he said. And he said "unlike Europe, which attracts immigrants because of the generally good public welfare benefits, immigrants come to this country to work and chase the American dream".

?The evidence suggests that immigrants, legal and illegal, tend to give more than they take,? he said. ?They are here for the work -- not for the benefits.?

But I kinda know that you are gonna come up with either "msnbc is less credible than myself" or "economists that talks in favor of immigrants are less credible than myself" theory

Bottomline, think we should deport all the native-born highschool dropouts to Alaska.. after all the opportunities they are given to go to college and they fail to take those tunits.. they are a disgrace to this society and may go try to make a career in the fishing industry thou highly doubt that they'll even do that will prolly still just stay couch potatoes and complain about immigrants taking their jobs away
