Regardless of what went on with both sides one person having $3500 and the other having $0 is wrong. I've dealt with a lot of pricks, had some design jobs that were pure shit recently. I paid for them, threw them in the trash and went on. Never once did I think to say "Hey this is shit, I know you worked for hours but you're getting $0."
