very much , they dont like blogs on subdomains , you should always put a blog on a new domain
or , most SE's really love blogs hosted on subdomains , it gives the overall domain a more powerfull ranking ,

As long as your subdomain is on a different Cname you'll be fine otherwise http://www.sitename/blogname is better
