1) Find a high PPC category/niche OR area where you can provide DIRECT to consumer services or products

2) Provide a free tool that surfers of that category/users of that product NEED OR communication/networking platform

3) Provide lots of FREE useful content and place it with either your PPC/Service/product links and tool/platform. If you need custom content at really affordable rates, contact me.

Would be better if it was original content but the problem with that is you need to be atleast knowledgeable in that area to write up decent articles.

Its just funny seeing people take rss feeds from popular sites and use that as the sole content for their site.

I see that a lot. The key here is to tie that in to either an existing community so the community generates the content (there's tons of online examples of this but using articles) or have us familiarize a writer with specific mainstream categories. This works best with 'consumer' topics but as you move further into highly technical issues, writer costs rise since you will need a very experienced specially trained invidual. Another issue to consider, there's many differing 'depths' to approaching mainstream content. Depending on your site's revenue strategy, a fairly "accessible" approach may suffice.

you're joking right?

there's hundreds of thousands, if not millions of niches in 'mainstream'. best you start researching yourself.

or why not go for a big money area like insurance or mortgages. you'll only be competing with the best in the business though so don't worry...

blogs are only one out of many great ways to get traffic. limiting yourself to just one traffic source is daft

You are correct. I never said it was the only way to get traffic now did I? But it's certainly a useful tool.
