couple of facts/things you should know/do in order NOT to look stupid
1. Tequila is NOT made from a cactus.
2. There's NO worm in any tequila bottles, a worm is placed in some mezcal bottles. 3. Never say that you wife's wedding ring is made of 24 karat gold, (almost) nobody makes jewelry out of 24 karat gold, it's just too soft!!! 4. Never hold a wine glass like you hold your dick, wine glass should be held by the stem rather than the bowl. hope that helps |

Agaves are succulent plants of a large botanical genus of the same name, belonging to the family Agavaceae. Chiefly Mexican, they occur also in the southern and western United States and in central and tropical South America. The plants have a large rosette of thick fleshy leaves generally ending in a sharp point and with a spiny margin; the stout stem is usually short, the leaves apparently springing from the root.
Each rosette is monocarpic and grows slowly to flower but once after a number of years, when a tall stem or "mast" grows from the center of the leaf rosette and bears a large number of shortly tubular flowers. After development of fruit the original plant dies, but suckers are frequently produced from the base of the stem which become new plants.

Gold engagement rings can be 24 karat, 18 karat, 14 karat or 10 karat. Rings that are 24 karat are 100 percent gold, or pure gold, while 18 karat gold rings contain 75 percent gold (and 25 percent other metals known as alloys). Fourteen karat gold contains 58 percent gold and 10 karat contains a little more than 41 percent gold.
Which karat amount is best? That all depends. First of all, 24K gold is usually not recommended for engagement or wedding rings because it is too soft to stand up to the constant wear-and-tear of a ring worn every day. Most jewelers recommend 18K or 14K gold.

BTW Jace. They do exsist. I could even show you some links. Try googling "pure 24k gold rings" and you'll find some. But I think the point has already been made.

"MYTHS ABOUT TEQUILA Tequila and mezcal are made from a cactus. WRONG. Cactus plants grow in the desert and are of a different genus than the agave. There is no known liquor obtained from the cactus." you can find it here: http://www.itequila.org/myths.htm thanks you for your help |

Absolutely correct about the agave (the blue is the only variety allowed to be truly called a tequila) not being a cactus - it is a succulent (completely different)
Also true that worms are not put in real tequila - its a myth that was started back in the 1940s to play with people in the US that thought you had to get Cuervo to get real tequila - although its probably the worst tequila on the market. The Mezcal - which is the generic name for all tequilas and a bunch of others in the past - is now separated out since "distillers" started making versions for the people in the US that wanted "status" bottles - its all the same shit but nowadays they distill it a little different much as Rye and Scotch are distilled differently. As far as 24k rings - I have worn one for over 35 years and I get it reshaped every year and polished to get the dings out - it cost $6k in 1969 and has a bunch of diamonds and sapphires set in the gold that fall out on a regular basis - but fortunately back then when you bought a ring they gave you a lifetime protection certificate that replaces anything forever - and they still back it 35 years later. Wine glasses - well - it all depends on what type of wine it is - some require that the wine bouquet be released during the drinking by holding the glass on the bowl - while some sparkling wines work better by holding the stem with two fingers and your thumb to make sure you dont transmit too much heat to the wine to release the bubbles too fast - of course having been brought up before Boones Farm was invented - a gallon of Gallo Burgandy or Chianti hoisted over the shoulder with your finger throught the loop works just fine at lunchtime in high school - especially if the sugar cubes, purple haze or sunshine have started to wear off |

the dude at the tequila factory i visited said something about how they put ina worm in one bottle to test the batch, if the worm is still moving by the time it hits the bottom the bottle is not good. the worm should die before it hits.... but then again i was drunk on tequila.
as for the 24k thing, never say never. people make rings out of 24k all the time. gold is just a very soft metal when its not strengthened with an alloy. doesnt mean it cant be done. just means its not too smart to make a weak ring that potentially holds thousands of dollars in jewels. and for the wine shit.... FUCK YOU. ill hold my glass any damned why i want to. just because some stuck up fucker says its not cool to hold it a certain way i should follow? have fun being a sheep. |
