Cams.com conversions

I started promoting them in oktober 05 I think , tried them out a bit, never did real good, stopped promoting but left links up , now I see all of a sudden I am starting to make some $$$ , nothing big obviously , but how should I look at these conversions ?

Hm, 20% isn't very much though. We pay out 30% - 40%. Cam users are somewhat unpredictable. There was one user I have that didn't spend any money for 3 months and then turned into a big spender.

Dude we lost so much in the stats. You use to be able to track your members by username, identify whales, figure out your average member value on your traffic. Now we no longer have those valuable statistics to help us make more money. Want to get excited about landing a whale with Cams.com? Sorry! Can't do it anymore.

Yes, the ability to see which members were spending money is something I am missing as well. I do like being able to see how many total members have signed up.

To be able to track a whale/big spender, can really motivate affiliates... It's a sponsor program selling point....

A few notes, we got rid of the member names due to privacy concerns, and poaching, however we are thinking of implementing member tracking, by numbers so each member would have a number so you could track customers that way. This is a very standard and common occurance peopel send traffic to % for a short while dont think it pans out and leave us, those in the know stick to it for a good period of time our average across the board customer spends $750 over a 2 year period, that means the average customer is worth $150 over 2 years. Thats why our Cams.com Program is whomping ass all over the place and we continue to set new record sales levels and new record models online currently many times with over 500 models online. In the next 6 months we are going to move away fromt he pack of cam companies and set ourselves as the clear top dog, just as we ddo in dating with Adult Friend Finder. The cams.com brand is going to become so well known that it will sell itself, and we will outsell all other companies due to High branding of our domain and many other factors.

I get this question all the time hopefully this will help clear the air a bit. I am reposting it from another thread but hopefully it is informative.

first off % is better than PPS on our system. I have one webmaster who sends about 2000 traffic a day to 2 accounts. on PPS and one % and has been doing this for over a year. He makes around $100 a day on each account. The difference is if he turned off both accounts today the % account would pay out for more than a year to come slowly declining over time.

As for how many free signups convert to customers, that really varies on were the traffic comes from and how it is sent to us. I have seen only one trend, if your free signups to traffic sent is over 5% then you should do well with us and te closer you are to 10% conversion from traffic to free signup the more money you will make.

And on to the real hat trick
In live cams there are customers and then there are REAL customers (WHALES) kinda like a casino. 1 (whale) can equal 100 customers. it usuallly takes a good ammount of traffic to find that one whale, a whale can spend as much as $20,000 in a month. as you can see at 20% this is $4000 your cut. Obviously that is the extreme but havina guy who spends 5000 is not unusual.

Now sometimes someone sends us some traffic and it does not convert in the first couple days, and they pull the plug. Thinking this program sucks or whatever. Mostly they just did not stick around long enough to find the GOLD ! This is different than sending traffic to paysites. These customers come back every day and talk to girls. Eventually they try it out. the free signup you send today can turn into a sale 2 months or a year later. But if you have stopped sending traffic, you likely forget all about that when ya get your check a year later.

On the other hand sometimes we get a customer who sends a little traffic lands a WHALE their first week and think oh my god this porgram is the greatest converting thing on the planet ! It typoically takes a good 6 months or so of steady traffic to reach a peak performance but can take up to a year.

This is a long term partnership, Many companies have been with us for years and we are inside almost every major paysite company there is. There is a reason for that !

Please give us a shot at converting your traffic, but give us a fair shot at it and remember it takes a bit more time with live cams but the payoffs can be wicked for waiting around

I cant find the other old thread but basically I wanted to comment on people who throw out various % numbers and PPS, the botom line is who sends you teh biggest check, dont be fooled by tricky sales pitches offering high % or PPS, Send traffic to the company that makes you the biggest ammount of cash , not the one who claims the highest payouts. I am confident that Adult Friend Finder is the greatest converter of traffic in the adult space for general traffic and dating there may be niches that are very targeted that convert better but for volume sof traffic nothing can compare ! Cams.com also does very very well and if you have cam traffic you are missing the boat if your not sending it to us ! If you are a promoter of Adult Friend Finder and Cams.com in the next few months you will be very happy as we will be paying more for promoting several of our sites in combination.

This really needs to come back and by unique anonymous ID would certainly allay any privacy concerns. Plus, if the member changes his username he is still tracked by ID number. Otherwise what you wrote below can't be tracked or quantified...

Implementing a better tracking system would be great. Esspecially to determine the difference between new and past members / rebillng customer. I had 10 sales the other day but I dont know anything about the sales so I cant promote you guys any better. Showing the reffering pages would be a big help. Even with Aff there should be seperate categories new, recuring and upselling members.

When it comes to live content conversion factors multiply. People are so used to the membership/monthly recurring method that they forget all about the content.

Live video chat and webcam traffic converts generally a LOT slower than the kind that hits video and pic download/streaming sites.

The main reason is that the content is live - you can't download it and watch it later. There's all kinds of factors involved below that - the guy has to have the time, the girl has to be online, his card has to be clear, he has to trust the site, etc....

Any other kind of site, the surfer could join, download, and watch any time - he knows he's got the stuff.

But here your first timer has to go through all the usual rigamarole of trusting the site, liking the content, etc, and then he has to get something for a buy - and with live when the guy buys he has to be able to chat with the big-booby chick or whatever now.

We have to wait for the moment. Volume of traffic can help, but quality of traffic is more important here.

Like many live video chat affiliates, you backed out too soon - but as you saw your traffic, even in low volumes, started paying off.

Cams has an excellent faq or affiliate info page somewhere that describes this relationship between site and affiliate that you should read. I mean, Lars is competition for us, but I think we have a lot to learn from each other from our years of experience, and we could both benefit if this understanding of the conversion model could reach more affiliates.

Live video chat converts - and the Cams advantage is that they have a join as well as a pay-per-minute affiliate pay-out - but not as well or as high as a typical membership site - BUT when we convert it kicks ass for the affiliate in terms of retention. These guys love these girls - as persons, more often than not - who can become cyber-mistresses in a manner of speaking.

Patience, repeat exposure and consistency - you stick with a live cam program and in the end you're rewarded.
