You are much closer this time.. I'm in Daytona Beach and it shows up as Port Orange.. PO is a little bit farther south.

The old database was about 2 towns over for me ..this one is right on ... I guess it's worth the $90 bucks a month for the updated Data ...

I'm very excited about these new tools and we are already working on different applications we can use it with like targeted tours and stuff like that .. I'll keep everyone informed ..

When people say "still isn't perfect" what do they mean? That the geoIP targetting is off? There's nothing you can really do about that aside from changing the geoIP provider. Judging by the results of this one it's http://www.maxmind.com/

Surfers must be wise to this by now...but it's cute none the less.

I think MaxMind city lookups are $.0004/lookup (with caching it could only cost you $20/mo +/-). You'll likely need a dedicated box for this, too, if you plan on serving up a serious amount of these. I was thinking about making this a free script at one time. It would allow you to select the base image, input the text font size/font file, and set the x/y coords of the geo text.
