The old database was about 2 towns over for me ..this one is right on ... I guess it's worth the $90 bucks a month for the updated Data ...
I'm very excited about these new tools and we are already working on different applications we can use it with like targeted tours and stuff like that .. I'll keep everyone informed ..

When people say "still isn't perfect" what do they mean? That the geoIP targetting is off? There's nothing you can really do about that aside from changing the geoIP provider. Judging by the results of this one it's http://www.maxmind.com/

I think MaxMind city lookups are $.0004/lookup (with caching it could only cost you $20/mo +/-). You'll likely need a dedicated box for this, too, if you plan on serving up a serious amount of these. No Ip database will ever be 100% .. they say this one should be about 75% ..it's the same one Jayman and Mayor use and I find theirs to be pretty on the money. I have plans beyond just the fansigns for this script and I think for what i have planned being off by a little bit is a good thing. I think surfers are getting used to seeing this and maybe seeing a town over or two is a good thing ... take www.gogoauditions.com ... if I add a banner that looks like it's part of the header that says "watch these (city) girls go the extra mile to get the job" if it's a location near the surfer may think it could be shot in a local town ...
