SCOTTSBURG, Ind. -- A woman and a 3-year-old child were killed in a trailer fire Tuesday morning.

As many as four others were rushed to area hospitals, including two who had to be flown to University Hospital, WLKY NewsChannel 32 reported Tuesday.

The fire took place in a trailer home near the Midway Apartment Complex near the intersection of state Roads 31 and 56 in Scottsburg.

Fire crews said the trailer was engulfed when they arrived, and added that the woman -- in her 20s -- and the child were trapped inside, WLKY reported

That is horrible.

Why does everyone come to GFY with their hand out? no offense.. but horrible stuff happens every day... nobody here knew any of the people involved in this tragedy... so why should they donate specifically to this instead of some organization who would put better use to the money... like unicef or world care etc...

sorry for being insensitive... but i would rather give my money to unicef or world vision then some random person i don't know.

Being a firefighter myself, it is always sad to hear of this. We have had a few fatal fires in my area the last couple months. Unfortunately with the rising costs of heating more people are switching to Kerosene and other heaters which are causing a large spike in fires.

My condolences to the families. R.I.P.

So why not use the nick, K-rock, that everyone knows and see what you can get done that way? I don't mean to be rude, but just makes more sense to use a nick that these people know rather than a new one. Not trying to be insensitive either, I just think people are a bit jumpy about these kinds of threads nowadays with so many pulling fake things to get help.

Sorry for your loss, I wish I could help, but I have enough going on in my world right now that's keeping me pretty tapped. Medical bills for my husband's surgeries and more coming up are eating me alive.

Best of luck with this and hope you get what you are after to help.

We DO pull together to help out our buddies.. Now, who are you? Some noob asking for money... and telling us that we should help you because you figured out how to register a GFY nick?

Sorry that people died in a fire. I'm not sending you anything with all of the scammers around here. There are charities that do that shit.. and GFY ain't one of them.

Hey nacworker ...

Or should I say K-Rock, or Hilldale Or Bushmasters or simply Rodney?

Looking to fuck more people over today?

Well tell you what, fuck off buddy, not on this board anymore...

You can stick your tragedy stories right up your scamming ass where you're obviously hiding a lot of more dirt and stolen monies from honest webmasters.

I'm on your ass and you will feel it in the future.

I disagree. I would never give money to a huge charity myself. More of the money is put to better use if the donation goes directly to those in need. Otherwise you are looking at 20%... 30%... even 50% going to the charity itself for opperating expenses.

That's not to mention the telemarketing companies who call for donations. They keep a large percent before it even hits the actual charity.

True, but at least a percentage is getting to the people in need

And not some scammers pocket, as in too many cases in GFY charity, sad but true.

I meant it more along the lines of donating to the Salvation Army to help out homeless people vs. just giving the money directly to people you see on the street.

If this is Bushmasters he really crossed the line. Scum bag piece of shit.

For those that are really concerned about those in the fire read here.

http://www.wlky.com/news/7857768/detail.html

If you're interested in donating, you can make them at the Collins Funeral Home at 465 W. McClain Ave., in Scottsburg, Ind.

Do not give any money to someone posting on GFY.

I know what you're talking about. Charities can skim up to 85% "administrative costs." Fuck that. I give my money directly.

Nacworker, if you are really a scammer... Im 100% sure that some mysterious force will take 10 times more from you than you'll get from the donations.

I'm not a big believer, but I woudn't ever have guts to play with these kind of feelings...

Yup, and I agreed with you.

I was just talking about GFY donations, not homeless people, or people you can see for yourself that they really are in need of the donation.

THANK YOU! The actual family should be the ones getting help, not someone trying to ride on a tragedy that isn't theirs to ride on. I think I can safely say that most would be cool donating to THAT, but not to this clown here!!

Thanks hon..... the RIGHT people should be the ones helped, always.

Not to be insensitive - but this is a prime example of why my family has house, fire and life insurance.

I'd shudder at the thought of my relatives begging for money from strangers on a web forum.

Assuming of course that this isn't an outright scam from the get-go.

"Investigators said the owner of the trailer had asked the six residents to leave the property a week ago because of suspicions about drug activity, and only two people were supposed to be living there."

"Witnesses said they heard an explosion, and also told police they believed there was a methamphetamine lab at the trailer. Scottsburg Police Chief Delbert Meeks couldn't confirm that theory, but sounded like he wouldn't be surprised."

I just find it REAL damn strange that the thread bumping has completely stopped.. that's what is bugging me just a little. Among other things of course.

I hate the thought of being insensitive to a tragedy, but I don't think that is the case here. I honestly in my heart of hearts think this is something fishy going on. I am THE last person to slap someone when they are down, but I just don't think I am wrong here, too many coincidences for my taste.

IF the ips don't show the same person, I'll eat it and apologize, but I don't think that is going to hapen. BUT people this cunning CAN spoof IPs, I have seen it a million times on my own boards. ;)

Most simple dial up accounts assign a different IP each time you dial up. Not to mention proxys for the high speed connections etc.

After discussing this with a few people over ICQ it appears this guy is Bushmasters. Even if we were wrong (doubt it) as I previously posted donate to the proper place. Why take a chance with someone posting here that no one knows.

If you're interested in donating, you can make them at the Collins Funeral Home at 465 W. McClain Ave., in Scottsburg, Ind.

Well tell you what, fuck off buddy, not on this board anymore...

You can stick your tragedy stories right up your scamming ass where you're obviously hiding a lot of more dirt and stolen monies from honest webmasters.

I'm on your ass and you will feel it in the future.
Rodney?!?! Fucking Rodney.
You've gotta be shitting me!

Hey Tam - Sorry to hear about Songrider's health issues. I'll keep good vibes flowing his way.

sorry for being insensitive... but i would rather give my money to unicef or world vision then some random person i don't know.

Like to see if he comes back to address all these allegations - looks pretty bad right now and if true, this guy is a total scumbag. Banning is the least punishment he should receive.
