Documents show that the decision to sell plutonium to Israel in 1966 was blocked by officials in both the Ministry of Defence and the Foreign Office, who said: "It is HMG's policy not to do anything which would assist Israel in the production of nuclear weapons." But the deal was forced through by a Jewish civil servant, Michael Michaels, in Tony Benn's Ministry of Technology, which was responsible for trade in nuclear material, according to Newsnight.

Peter Kelly, who was British defence intelligence's expert on the Israeli nuclear weapons programme, knew Mr Michaels. He told Newsnight he believed Mr Michaels knew that Israel was trying to build an atomic bomb, but that he had dual loyalties to Britain and Israel.

My point is that what surronds Israel should not be the concern of the West. We shouldn't be fighting wars with Arabs on their behalf, or supplying Israel with nuclear capabilities. However, an educated person should be aware of who is pulling what strings, so when the war drums begin to beat they don't send their sons, or the sons of others off to war because they believe they are an 'American Patriot' for doing so. It should not, and without such large pro-Israeli/Jewish powerbase in place it wouldn't, be a concern of the USA to protect Israel at all costs, to help supply them with nuclear weapons, to give them more AID than any other country on the planet and to essentially turn 1 billion people on the planet against you on behalf of one shitty little nation. well chief . . . . actually every border in the middle east was drawn by the west . . . (and the borders around Russia were drawn by the Russians, and the Balkans were draw by the west after WWI and redrawn after WWII*). . . that area of the world is based on tribalism and there are no actual countries . . as far as the 'Israeli' question goes need I remind you the Arabs have LOST every war with Israel and are only demanding the land back that they LOST from sneak attacks . . Israel also has probably one of the most efficient security services in the world and are not averse to theiving the secrets of other governments (including those on "our side") and also involved in commercial espionage.
