I will say that I never really hear dof postal STABBINGS? I mean it's hard to kill 15-20 people with a KNIFE. You might get 1 or 2 but someobody will tackle your ass before you can do much more damage.

Gun nuts will always twist the Constitution so the US will never be like the UK. best to just deal with that. Well until the next 9-11 and Bush takes away the right to bear arms for our "protection". Can't wait for that day. Boy won't the NRA flip out over thier boy taking away thier guns.

"Everyone" has a gun in Norway, either a H&K G3 / MP5 / Glock from the army, a hunting rifle or a shotgun. Yet the amount of shootings is very limited. Some clown blows his head off every now and then, usually around christmas, but thats about it.

I think the Swiss also keep guns, machine guns etc at home because they have some kind of a 'stay at home' army, but probably the last shooting incident there was 50 years ago ;)

Hmm mugged or murdered? I'll take mugged.

60 million people in UK 79 murders by guns. USA 300 million so if we had the same gun homicide rate as the UK there would only be 400 murders by guns each year instead of the 10,000 or so we currently have. Since most of those murders are younger people how much is it costing the taxpayers to lose that many younger people? How many lost work years is that? No to mention if they have kids then the taxpayers foot the bill to take care of them. How much taxes am I paying for people that are shot and end up in the hospital?

Want to own a gun, fine. First write me a fat check to make up for my higher taxes.
