is this a bad business decision?

I'm on someone's payroll as a mainstream webmaster and I've tried to reassure him I can generate some serious sales. But it's been an uphill battle getting him to trust me, because he's not educated in e-commerce.

Here's an issue I've come across:

He wants me to add only certain products to the site, instead of everything we can offer. Such only the most high end products, and not the low end products. He justifies it by saying he doesn't want to sell crap. But in person, he'll sell the crappy product to someone who insists on buying it from him.

I think that in order for us to generate the most revenue, he will need to accomodate the uninformed consumers who are not aware of these high-end elite brands. My feeling is that we need to monetize our traffic in absolutely every way possible. These crappy products have a much higher consumer brand awareness, and much larger followings.

Part of me wants to insist that we provide more product, but then again I might want to just let him think he knows what he's doing. I don't want to be held responsible for crappy sales because not many people want to buy the high dollar stuff we're selling.

I understand that you are paying me to run your website and not your brain. Even through I feel that there is a dire need for intervention I am not Dr. Phil and the real Dr. Phil will not return my phone calls since I sent him the 8x10 glossy of me raping a fleshlight. At any rate, I feel that you are making another huge mistake by only offering high-end shit. I mean there are some pimps with enough flow to hook the fat shizzle, but you need to think about the little pimps and the wannbees that just don't thave enough game for the top shelf. What I am trying to say is that I am not going to be responsible for you fucking up the website that you paid me to build because you won't let me add bargin basement items.

But now that I htink about it you are the one paying for this and who am I to grumble. After all I am making fat stacks with ghettothugs.com and you are just a piece of dog shit on my shoe.
