We didn't have a formal appraisal, but our estimates are as follows. We estimate the low end is mid five figures, and the high end is low six figures. Coed is a very hot niche right now. You can possibly create a site like SoCalCoeds.com, NebraskaCoeds.com, etc..

What kind of revenue can such a site generate? Alot, but the specifics depend on the acquirer. Like all properties, it is most valuable at the highest and best use. A large company like Adult.com/ Playboy could have an easier time generating traffic for it, so it would be more valuable to a company like that. That's why the range in value.

If the bidding hits 5 figures I will be highly surprised. Yes adult.com could better generate traffic to it. Same as they could better generate traffic to californiacollegeslutslive.com. Good luck.

I'm not being negative at all here, just giving an honest opinion: it's not worth 5 figures. In my opinion, I think it's worth hundreds, not even thousands. Maybe $500 to $1,000 at the most. Seriously.

It's only 1 day into a 7 day auction.

Sure it's long, but it's only two words, and good ones.

WE should start a pool on how high it goes on eBay. My research suggests that eBay is the worst place to sell a domain and I will never understand why people post an item with a reserve of "X" and start the bids at 2.29. If you want 200,000.00 then start the fucking bids at 200k. Why waste your time and everyone elses time with a 2.29 cent starting bid.

My prediction is that this domain will not go over 600.00. My official prediction is 592.51.

...and. You should have posted the auction under an account with more than (10) positive feedback. I have 2259 positive and would gladly post the auction for you for 10 or 15 points. People will not bid very high when a seller has a feedback rating of 10.

Thanks, I will keep in mind the importance of feedback. Maybe I should do more business on eBay.

Although, I have been a member of eBay since 1999.

Think about all those coeds frolicking on the beach. Think about all of those coeds in the pool with their skimpy bikinis. Think about all those coeds in their dorm rooms having sex or just changing their clothes.

Now, think about all the guys in California (and elsewhere) who would go crazy watching them. Think about the money this site could make. Think about the nice alliterative brandable domain name which could be yours!

Think about YOUR affiliate program sponsoring this orgy of young bodies and money!

Stop joking about three hundred dollars or even five hundred dollars. Be real! Where are all the big pimps?! Open your wallet for this. It will make you money!!

Daddy Halbucks, as I told you on ICQ, you have a very overblown "value" of domains... at least of those you are involved with. Looks like my $500 - $1000 estimate was a bit high.

And you are HIGH thinking "5 figures".

Donny, thanks for your offer to tutor me on domains. You told me you have a "few hundred" domains.

Dude, I own almost 20,000 domains!

If you are feeling envious or bad about yourself, go buy a Fleshlight and lube it up and have some fun. Juicy is a nice guy and he would probably give you a discount on one.

On ICQ, Donny offered me $100 for CoedCash.com, and I turned him down flat.

That's why he is being difficult.

Yup, he made a super generous offer of $100 for CoedCash.com.

I'm going to tell you what happened. Mind you this is 100% pulled out of my ass but who knows this could be it ;).

DHB saw the headlines of X domain selling for XXX million. He decided to get into the domain market and get him summa dat. He or someone he knows bought up shitloads of names when pulling some b/s like californiacoeds.com was a $20 registration fee. After accumulating hundreds or thousands of these domains he found a few suckers along the way that bought into the hype and wanted to get rich on domains. (Amway ring a bell) This reinforced the idea to him that his domains are worth 500 times the actual market price. I'm sure he's made some nice sales along the way, when you find that special buyer for that special name you can get some big bucks. You also post on GFY that you're selling a mediocre name that you estimate to be worth 5 to 6 figures.

$305 is a damn good offer for that crap. You can register equally valuable names still today with a little digging.

Ebay estimates the top end at $305 so far. I have a hunch that with no shill bidding they will estimate it nowhere near even 4 figures.

Not at all. It begs the question: what's a good brand worth?

I specialize in branding, and I have seen brandable names sell between $30,000 up to $110,000. Yes, all the way up there.

Actually, I know of one guy who sold a brandable name (without traffic) for $50,000 --but the acquirer would have paid, and had authorized, up to $250,000 to acquire it. The seller had no clue. The buyer wanted to sell a product by that name. The seller left $200,000 on the table.

So, you have willing buyers for such brandable names all the way up to $250,000. There are probably a lot more examples of even higher ones.

We believe that [CaliforniaCoeds.com] would make a great marketable site that would make hundreds of thousands of dollars in profit. That has value. That makes "mid five figures" look like a good buy.

Domains are unique pieces of real estate.

eBay doesn't estimate any value. They just run the auction.

Can't this be said about EVERY domain out there? I can reg werpovcvd.com and say its brandable to the right person but claiming that domain is worth 50k because of that would be retarded.

Basically your domain is pretty worthless.
Its like having an old shitty car thats worth 200 bucks. Maybe on the other side of the world theres a person who would pay 5k for that car because of the wheels or whatever. That means you would be lucky and not that your car is worth 5k. Its still worth 200 bucks. Same goes for your domain.

I see you're still living in La-La Land.

You'll notice nobody came to your defense when you said you think I'm offbase on CoedCash.com (especially knowing that you don't have CoedsCash.com to go with it, which is what most will type into their browser). $50,000 for CoedCash.com, eh?

Yep, whacky weed strikes again!

Yep, whacky weed strikes again!
I just want to know if he's buying. What I always find funny with these domain "pros" is they try to sell domain x for $xxxxx. You contact them about a domain of similar quality and "it's not worth much" even if you're selling dirt cheap.

Thanks for the kind words, however..

I have been in the domain business for over 5 years. I manage almost 20,000 domains. I don't view domains as a 'get rich quick' scheme, I view it as a business to "work really hard, and hopefully get rich in the end."

CaliforniaCoeds.com was originally registered in 1997. That's not some junk that just popped on the scene.

My customers aren't "suckers." I have made them alot of money.

I have sold domains into the six figure range. I have bigger deals on the horizon.

;)

I never doubted you did. Most domain people with a highly inflated sense of what something is worth have sold some names for big money. Nobody here is questioning whether or not you can find someone dumb enough to pick up one of 20,000 names for a ridiculous price here and there. It's to be expected. That doesn't mean anybody is buying your estimates either.

With domains like this nice one, its all about finding a retail end user that is out "looking" in the market with deep pockets who isn't price conscious and who wants to get some PR out of a high priced purchase, and as much as everyone here has poo poo'd that possibility on this thread, those kinds of buyers do exist.

Its a challenge to find them no doubt, and they are far and few between, but they are out there.
