That's why the count in that group is pretty low. It's a last resort for those that continue to break the sig rules. I don't really like to use it, but it IS necessary. For those in "Sig DISplacement", they've broken the rule blatantly, and usually more than 10 times. Once someone is put in there it's pretty much of a "life sentance". Only one has ever come out of that group, and they moved from that to the "Probation" group, where they were forced to run a "RealityCash" banner, and all of their posts were fully moderated for 90 days.

Some may not have noticed at all, or not noticed yet. But I am going through every single users sig. Yeah, that's right, I am checking all 67,552 users. I've got a database that I'm keeping for those that I've trimmed. Those that I have to trim more than twice from this effort will be put into the Sig DISplacement group. And as I've said before, once they are in chances are they will NEVER be let out. In the last two weeks, over 1,000 people lost their sigs. In the next two weeks I go back and check who put the big sigs right back.

The link in the custom title is something that was added to the code when I did the BIG upgrade from 3.0.7 to 3.5.3. I did put a few people in the "linked" titles just to test it out. I have since dumped those links. That feature can only be done by someone who has ADMIN and not just MOD privileges. I put four in as a test, they were Juicy, Donny, Belinda, and Pete-KT. There were a few others that were put in but not by me. There was one put in because someone lied, and said that I approved it. I have since dumped what I think is all of those "title links", but I probably need to run some queries against the database to make damn sure that they are all removed.

Born in Dallas, St. Paul Hospital. I lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth area most of my life. Done a lot of traveling certainly all over Texas and most of the country though. I know a ton of crazy bastards from East Texas and the Freeport area from time I spent wrenching and as a race reporter for about a decade on the NHRA Sportsman Regional circuit. :winkwink:

Why do you allow someone to accuse another of being a scammer without posting any proof what so ever...when it is against the rules of this board to do so?

Actually if all sigs were turned off, GFY would probably lose 10 to 20% of it's posters. But I think ad revenue would actually increase over the long term with that.

Does GFY mind the IRC channel in my sig? It's not for profit, there's no advertisements involved... it's just mainly used as an ICQ type of thing for GFYers to hang out at.

If someone is accused of scamming, they have the right to prove their side otherwise. If they can prove otherwise beyond a reasonable doubt, then I don't have a problem for banning someone that is just out to start shit. However, it is not part of my job to conduct investigations. You've got to realize that there are over 67K members here, and I'm constantly bombarded with people crying wolf or just crying period. I probably run through the board threads 15 to 18 hours a day, and I get over 400+ emails and icqs each day, even on the weekends and holidays. I can't be everywhere at once, sometimes I have to send the super-hero cape to the cleaners. :disgust

I've noticed your pink badger and the IRC channel before. The only problem I have is that it really needs to be somewhat limited to the "three lines of text" part. And it would be nice to see the badger go on a pixel diet.

At times I've thought about putting RealityCash surfer banners in my own sig. We get hit like you wouldn't believe by Google and Yahoo and other major search engines, so I do realize that there is a certain percentage of surfer view.

Demand that they post proof...or admit to their lie. If they will not then ban them. I have been a member of this board for several years...and regardless of what anyone says I am a webmaster and have been since the mid '90's and I currently have main stream as well as adult sites. I am just as much of a member of this board as anyone here. I will not tolerate being called a scammer.

Over time, new laws are passed and amendments made to the constitution. I'm having a hard time understand "rules" here. If no one likes sig whoring, why can't you add a new rule or "law" to the GFY terms and conditions? There is no reason you can't.

I'm so sick of going into a thread and the second post always says "Sig Spot". Its so lame and a waste. It racks up posts for people and gets them seen for no reason. If they want to be seen, the should have to say something a little more intellectual then "Sig Spot"
