i see many sets from our youngporn.net members area which is disturbing. Same goes for FTV site. Actually the vast majority of content appearing under amateurs belongs to FTVgirls and some threads even come with ready made zips of the pictures....

shap must feel honored cause they created a special index with content lol

You know what I don't understand.. how is it possible to use your own email address and then request a password that belongs to a different email address? That is simply not possible.

here's a scenario. you are really pissed that some guy is giving away all your content on his site. you fight him and fight and fight and can't get any action. you can't make any progress. you're pissed. you're frustrated and you are determined to get something done.

what do you do?

would you register a nick/take over his nickname making it clear you are from that board and then tell all of GFY to fuck off and repeatedly dare everyone to try to stop the site?.... knowing it will bring the wrath of people that will make it their lifes mission to do everything possible to shut the site down, DDOS it etc etc?

not a bad idea actually.

problem solved. you didn't even have to really get your hands dirty.

right up until the point that you slip up.

That's probably exactly what happened. As soon as I saw Rip-productions posting I knew it wasn't them. Just wondered who it was from HERE.

Of course the sheep will never see it that way. lol
I wonder if Jake wasn't an advertiser here if those posts would have been deleted.

And if it truly wasn't him, why were they deleted in the first place? He did nothing wrong, then.

Bahhh, bahhhh.......

But that was a hilarious post by The Captain trying to bail his ass out. I actually was laughing out loud reading it. :1orglaugh

That may be true, but then the MOD shouldn't post on gfy that his username was hacked, right? He fucked up trying to play GFY.

Thank you for sending this e-mail about this issue. But please do not
sent more than one e-mail regarding the same issue.

Please look at www.leaseweb.com/rt

Regarding this website, i have a few comments to make.

1. The images are not hosted on this forum. They are hot-linked.

2. The images can be found on numerous fileshare servers.

3. If these fileshare servers are in our domain. We can have the images
removed. Please give us the direct links of all images.

No moron. That's the LAW. Hotlinking/deeplinking is allowed over here.

Is it also allowed to be the driver of an escape car if your friends have just commited a bank robbery?

This is not a issue about deeplinking. It's about linking to, AND displaying pictures which have been stolen from paysites.

The hotlinking/deeplinking argument is very weak. Compare it to the guy who buys stolen goods from the burglar - he is just as guilty as the burglar.

You all should have a look here http://thepiratebay.org/legal.php
Same thing, linking to illegal files however not hosting them.
Nothing to do about it unless the laws of the hosting country is changed.

Weak or not: there has been a court case over here and the ruling was: it is ALLOWED. I don't blame you for not knowing that as you can't keep track of all the cases around the world :)
So.....legaly, they are 'untouchable'.

I don't agree with the fuckbags, but that's just the way it is. And stop comparing to something completely different.

not quite.

the case that you might be referring to, is where a website showed a thumbnail and linked to the full size image from the remote webserver (google is in the hot seat for this right now and lost the first round to Perfect 10).

the outcome of the case, was that it was ok to show the thumb, because when you clicked on the thumbnail, it went to the webpage where the image was shown.

in RIP's case, they are linking to a remote server that doesn't have the legal rights to host/distribute those images...so it is 'illegal', but that is going by US laws.

The US does try to export its copyright/trademark/patent laws to other countries, and there might be similar laws either in the hosting country of the website, or EU has similar laws.

Investigations as to where there are similar laws in EU are needed, which will just lead up having to file a lawsuit, if/once you are able to track down the website owner.

While RIP can popup again, having the domain shutdown would be crippling for a moment, until he emails his membership about the new domain.. and hosts in a different country, still hotlinking to the file shares. And there are many RIP type websites out there, all running the same model of linking to the same file sharing websites.

It would seem better use of energy to target the filesharing sites. These kinds of sites use alot of bandwidth, so if ISP pressure to have these sites shutdown are applied, then yes, they can move to other ISP.. but having large b/w requirements, means eventually, they will host on a "friendly" ISP that won't have the b/w needed to properly supply the load.

Fight the .02!

Fight the .02!

HERE = The Netherlands where the guy is based and where his stuff is based.
Not the US. US Laws don't apply here.

HERE = allowed to hotlink and deeplink. PCM vs. Kranten.com.

Contacting the filesharing sites would be a better option indeed

still looking for english version of the case.

i found this link that talks about linking in EU:
http://www.mofo.com/news/updates/files/update522.html

this has alot of EU related linking legal issues:
http://www.jura.uni-tuebingen.de/bechtold/lcp.html

The issue here is "inline linking" not deep-linking to an image, where the website that the image is pulled from, does not have legal rights for distribution of that image.

I am sure there are copyright infringement laws in EU that would speak to this, but requires litigation.

Fight the legal headaches!

FightThisPatent 02-24-2006 09:48 AM

previously, when you were able to go in and view the RIP forum site, there were sponsor banners at the top.. i remember seeing one for AFF.

Assuming sponsors that monitor the referer log for their websites, they could drop RIP as an affiliate (by doing a grep for the RIP domain and pulling out the affiliate ID), even look at his stats to see how traffic from stolen content helps them convert...

one of the ironies of all of this drama is of content producers who get upset when people steal their images, but yet they download music/movies/warez from the internet.

Fight the doh!

mackey 02-24-2006 09:51 AM

Juicy D. Links 02-24-2006 10:19 AM

I own it anybody want to buy links?

ServerGenius 02-24-2006 10:33 AM

I haven't been posting much today......I'm very busy at the moment. I'll keep
following this thread to keep up. As mentioned before if this guy is in Holland
I'll go after him if sites/programs ask me to. Leaseweb their provider also has
a suite in the datacenter where I have my office. I can and will go in to talk
about it with them and I'm sure that I will have more success than an email.
I see these guys every day and if I have enough requests I'm sure they will
shut him down even if it's legal.

So anyone who has content listed on that forum please send an email with
links to the content, etc, etc and I will take care of this for anyone who emails
me.

I don't want ANYTHING in return, no money, no goodies.....As I do business
with many of you I'll do this as a "favor" coz if your business is hurt mine will
eventually be hurt aswell. So I'll be glad to help out if possible. But I DO need
solid info on what's yours and to whom I should go.

Keep this thread going I'll follow up with it and add if I have time or additional
information.

Thanks,

DynaSpain,

The problem is that LeaseWeb are also moderators on that board, and access to the forum has been disabled for all new members. So it is impossible to pick out the content now when Rip-Productions/LeaseWeb is making these kind of barriers.

LeaseWeb folks a moderator on there? You sure?

-edit- I just read it. It's him... "Terminator". Fuckbags

warlock5 02-24-2006 12:09 PM

Just because an employee is a moderator doesn't mean the owner knows whats going on. Not only could it get shut down, but some people could lose their jobs.

And maybe the guy is in it as well.
And maybe the mod guy catches the complaints and /dev/null's them :winkwink:

Also...if the owner knows about it: who gives a fuck? The employee is doing nothing illegal.

If the owner does not know: who gives a fuck? The employee is doing nothing illegal. The owner can not fire him for it (this is not the US) if he DOES find out

I wouldn't worry about it.... We have 9 or 10 guys on the inside collecting links, names, threads, screengrabs, all info required for a number of us.

What's funny is some of the guys that appear to be giving the most support "I'm RIP until I die" etc. are actually us! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

I spoke to one guy today who was saying he's been hit up by one Eastern European Porn company who are run by... shall we say.... 'The darker element of this world'

It's made me realise that after all this bitching.... The Porn industry has it's seedy sides to it and hand in hand with that come the kind of people you really wouldn't ever want to meet.

This isn't me making threats because I don't know, but from what I've heard the 'Darker Element' have taken notice.

Zyber 02-24-2006 02:05 PM

The "Darker Element"?

Ebony anal is a great niche... Just kidding :winkwink:
