Yo Lars, time to short blockbuster and the others...
check this out: www.moviebeam.com you may have already seen the interview on cnbc but thought I would share this with you. Looks promising and if blockbuster and netflix don't get their shit together quick, look out!!
They have a private investor backing them right now, but you can bet dollars to doughnuts they will take this company public soon.

The future of IPTV is going to be very interesting, I am not sure who is going to win, but my guess is the cable companies are going to be here in a very big way, and its going to be hard to unseat them they wont just sit buy and watch market sahre decline. but yes blockbuster and netflix are prolly done with in the next 5 years.

yep. IPTV will be huge, but for those who already have digital cable with say Comcast you can already watch over 5k+ shows on Demand anytime you want.
in a few years companies like blockbuster, and dumbass companies like netflix (who i still don't understand how succeeded) will be burried. video on demand is the wave of the future and no one will remember rental places in 10 years. hmm. wait 5 days to get some shit movie from netflix and then have to ship it back or order instantly for next to nothing with just a few clicks on the remote. hmmm

$3.99 per new release, 1.99 per popular movies, compared to 18$ for all you can rent at 3 at a time |

WTF netflix rocks. Ondemand has like a handful of new movies and then the rest are shit old movies. I get all my netflix movies within a day. Until I can get access to practically a unlimited database of movies to watch off of a IPTV setup I won't want it. Netflix filled a void and has done an awesome job imo.
I mean even a few years back there was services that offered VOD on your computer but the biggest problem is always the limited selection of movies. |

yes, but what separates these guys is they get the new movies the exact same time that netflix and the others do. theres waiting for it to come in the mail, you get to download and watch it now. Plus sooner or later someone will develope a way for you to copy over these new movies and burn them later on when you get time. I'm also willing to say that in time they will probably do away with the $200.00 box fee and either rent it or just give it away
