The company "running" the ports is only operating the loading/unloading and scheduling of arrivals/departures. The US Coast Guard and the Dept. of Homeland Security(US Customs) will still be doing security. It's not like we're letting the terrorists guard the ports. Geezus.

Explain to me how an arab company owning and operating a port puts the US at any more risk than it already is? The fact of the matter is the only thing stopping people shipping all kinds of drugs and weapons to the US are people like the coast guard, homeland security and customs. This company can't stop that. They have no control over it.

Do you think there were no containers coming to the US from the middle east before all this happened? Are you really this naive? This doesn't mean there's going to be some sudden surge in containers from Dubai to the US. And fuck, if they wanted to suddenly send more, it's not like they'd need to buy a port to do it. They could just send more.

Explain how this sale puts the US at greater risk. If you can't do that, then stop whining.
