SEO. Ignoring the menu/navigation?
I am wondering if there is a trick to get the search engines to ignore the navigation. Although I have a meta-tag description, the search engine takes the menu-items as description text. Any thoughts?
If there is a way to ?jump over? elements, I?d use the same method to ?ignore? the news and updates section for example. |

G'day, could it be due to the non existent header 1, 2 & 3 text
and the paragraph text on a page? |

I utilize the url widexl to view how a search engine might display a page if listed. The only time I had noticed something similar to your findings was when one of my own pages listed on the search engine with only the description of hyper links shown was when I only had a list of links on that page in question. example google.com/search?q=site:www.cybergallerypost.com&hl=en&lr=&start=10&sa=N the boob links under the url cybergallerypost.com/boob/ In closing, I'm 110% sure that somebody with greater knowledge of how to better answer your question other than myself would give you a true indication on what might be happening in your situation. |

Thanks for your reply. I am really trying everything... or so I think. I added a skip to content link... and all that. Strange stuff! Code:
<div id="skip_to_content">
<a href="#ContentArea">skip to content</a>
</div>

Use CSS to move the menu from the right, to where you want it on the left.
