Well that is the problem, if you don't register your copyrights before the infringement occurs then you are not entiltled to lawyer fees, just damages.

If registration is made within 3 months after publication of the work or prior to an infringement of the work, statutory damages and attorney's fees will be available to the copyright owner in court actions. Otherwise, only an award of actual damages and profits is available to the copyright owner.

Who in their right mind would even briefly consider that as an option?

I hear you. I think Lens gives a fuck but I don't think it's capable of flying.... so I in part agree with you on that. :D

After all, the skin was removed. One could infer that it was due to the uproar it caused. Or not.

I'll conclude my posting for tonight by saying that I find GUBA's concept to be quite innovative in an opportunistic kind of way, but I'm sorry, I'm just not comforatable with the idea of a second entity making money by selling memberships to people to view MY content and I don't see a dime from it. Spin it any which way it can be spun, I don't see that ever sitting well with the average pay site owner, content producer, or affiliate program owner.

But you're right, if all these threads are just so much empty bitching with no teeth then we're all reduced to reaping the rewards of the almighty sig views.

Goodnight all.

copyrights, trademarks, and patents... what joy it is to have deal with the litigation (whether as a defendant or plantiff).
