I once bought my then girlfriend a very expensive perfume, and although I didn't know the brand, the sales girl highly recommended it, so I gave it to my girlfriend the next day.

Now the thing is that the perfume was for men - it was written in six different languages 'FOR MEN' on every side of the bottle (it was a funky bottle too - it had six sides), arg, live and learn ;(

Perfume is nice but she already has plenty plus i dont want to risk the chance of buying something she wouldnt like.

the store I mentioned (bijenkorf) has MAC. I know cause my gf buys it, its not something a guy picks easily, they have a zillion colors, its pro-artist makeup guess you know... plus Im not sure Francks talkin bout a 100 or so for some limited editions

Yea that's true about the colors, maybe not such a good idea, but the limited edition sets are not so much here, they had cute little sets during Christmas for around $30-$40 here?? But I have heard it's more expensive in Holland... For some reason everything is so expensive there.

Hey man I'm not talking about one of those cheap ugly metallic satan worshipper rings, but in those types of stores they actually sell some sophisticated stuff. Trust me I've picked up some small little things for women and they all love it, no matter how money hungry they are.

A gift is still a gift and women often appreciate it more when you don't show off immediately. I'd personally stay away from Chanel 5 for the first gift. If she turns out to be worth it you can always give her expensive parfum the next time.
