I once bought my then girlfriend a very expensive perfume, and although I didn't know the brand, the sales girl highly recommended it, so I gave it to my girlfriend the next day.

Now the thing is that the perfume was for men - it was written in six different languages 'FOR MEN' on every side of the bottle (it was a funky bottle too - it had six sides), arg, live and learn ;(

the store I mentioned (bijenkorf) has MAC. I know cause my gf buys it, its not something a guy picks easily, they have a zillion colors, its pro-artist makeup guess you know... plus Im not sure Francks talkin bout a 100 or so for some limited editions

You know what you should really do? Go to one of those Enya stores, you know.. the ones where they sell minerals, incents and goth rings. Pick her up something small like a little angel carved out of mineral stone. Girls love that shit and it only costs a tenner or something.

Make sure you pick up 5 and store the other 4 for future occasions (other chicks obviously).

YSL (yves saint laurent) has a very VIP box, its called Your Secret Luxury its a golden box with lipgloss etc, try to get that if you cant find the rings, she will love it, Bij sells it and if you tell the lady at Douglas shes hawt im sure she will give you the last one too

If everything else fails, what always works as well, get her a bouquet of roses. But not just any. 10 white long stemmed ones, put ONE red velvet one in the middle and tell her the white ones are for the friendship you guys had and the one red for the love to come :thumbsup

Hey man I'm not talking about one of those cheap ugly metallic satan worshipper rings, but in those types of stores they actually sell some sophisticated stuff. Trust me I've picked up some small little things for women and they all love it, no matter how money hungry they are.

A gift is still a gift and women often appreciate it more when you don't show off immediately. I'd personally stay away from Chanel 5 for the first gift. If she turns out to be worth it you can always give her expensive parfum the next time.
