Switching to gigabit ethernet

Well I finally broke down and bought a gigabit ethernet switch from HP

All my macs have gigabit cards already so I figured with all the big files moving around my home office it was time to upgrade from 100MBit

My buddy Steve is a cable tech so he is helping me throw cat 6 all over the basement today and will certify all the connections as well.

I can't wait to see the difference moving big video files around

With the right cabling and switch he should be able to do pretty good, especially with Macs I think. If anything, I am sure that the onboard NIC on the Macs is higher quality than that which is integrated in most average desktop PCs. 10/100/1000 ethernet interfaces are not all created equal!
