Is yahoo selling top Search engine spots?

This damn company has the #1 and 2 spot for all my keywords. The damn site aint even adult related

no it hasnt always been that way , and yes they are... not the sponsored links but the real links are being swapped and sold.. its supposed to only be with the site owners consent though , so you can get it stopped i believe

i think its a rather pathetic way to sift traffic though , because from my view the companies only exist to sell already existing traffic back to the owner..

I suppose its a smart idea , but thats rather hard to judge.. i think site owners get fooled into thinking they are somehow "gaining " traffic that didnt exist.. when likely all that happens is their search engine traffic vanishes and they get a new whale onboard = lost profit

its like a guy who offers to get you customers if you give him a percentage, then he goes to the phone company tells them to switch your phone number to his phone number , then he sells all the customers back to you..

Oh I know, I lost a whole bunch of organic listings to wildline. Its smart really, they pay Yahoo a fortune for these great listings and these sponsor companies will cave since they become a whale on an immense level. If I could have made the deal with Yahoo directly, I would have as well...
