Why is everyone so shocked? If BMW really tried to swamp the net with doorway pages, they had it coming. It's not the first site banned for doorways, you know. Happens to me all the time, guess that is not newsworthy.

in a related news article, bmw said that only 0.4% of their traffic comes from search, most of it is type ins

I doubt they're hurting, except maybe embarassment. bmw will remove the pages, and google will let them back in. simple as that
