The decline of fishstocks on the east coast : (
http://espn.go.com/outdoors/fishing/...1/2314007.html
Cod & Flounder fishing "TIME" will be cut by about 8-40% Of course the loophole being.....less time = more boats & more effecient fishing The government needs to put a catch limit on these guys & fast....or pretty soon our ocean will be devoid of fish. As the nations hunger for seafood grows, our ocean is becoming a graveyard.....does anyone have the power to stop commercial fishing? The profits are so large, i don't know if it can be reversed at this point.

I was a commercial fisherman on the east coast for most of my life. There should have been regulations put on it years ago. From what I can see it will be a many years if ever for the fish population to come to half of what it was 20 years ago.

yet we keep wiping out our fish stocks.... makes 0 sense crabs in the chesapeak bay were in trouble for awhile, so they banned certain types of crabbing for awhile....last year showed a record # of crabs & the prices were back to what they were in the late 80's so cutting back does help seafood stock |
