What a fucked thing to do as a host.

Doctor Dre 02-03-2006 02:09 PM

150 bullshit moves from hosts

Matt 26z 02-03-2006 02:11 PM

I should have brought this example up sooner....

What if I were to hotlink a sponsor banner for my GFY sig without their permission... Then the sponsor notices I've done this and finds a way to do a popup through a .jpg file so that they can get some free advertising on GFY. Would it be unreasonable for GFY to be upset at such a company?

This is the SAME THING.

Right or wrong, they are going to do it.

Ok now you are just dumb. I can say idiot too.

You obviously don't know what you are talking about at ALL. No host that respects itself would do that. On a virtual host, probably, but no way on a dedicated one.

When there is a problem, profetional host email you and give you 48 hours notice to take action if something is breakign their TOS. That's it and that's all.

Your experience with 2 mainstream shitty hosts blind you...

No. No it isn't. First, very few people here (if any) are saying that MySpace was in the wrong for being upset about what budz did. What everyone here is bothered by is the fact that the hosting company, no questions asked, removed the files from his account when MySpace told them to do so.

In your example, it wouldn't be unreasonable for GFY to be upset, just as it wasn't unreasonable for MySpace to be upset. What would be unreasonable is if GFY were to go straight to the company's host and have the files removed.

However, in your example, GFY would simply change out your sig, much like MySpace should simply have removed the hotlinked content from their site.

Wow, I can't believe you are still missing the point. If this were to happen, GFY would remove it from THEIR SERVERS, not where the file is hosted.

I've seen LOTS of people on GFY try to hotlink images from places, and those places have hotlink protection that replaces the image with an ADVERTISEMENT that says "This image is hosted by so & so"...

idiot.

Baker Rd 02-03-2006 06:27 PM

Just stop trying to argue with the guy, he is clearly brain dead.

Not at all... they just block flash to disable thoses exploits . That's the smart way to do it. You are just 100% behind myspace even thought they are wrong, and you are definitly looking like an idiot right now.

There are tons of people hotlinking shit that's redirected to advertisement on GFY.

P.S. because myspace is a "family" playground, it don't mean that if somebody hotlink something from an adult domain, that they have more right then any other website on the internet.

You are not quick at getting a lot of points there, and you aer stuck on your point (EVERYBODY IS TELLING YOU THAT YOU ARE WRONG)

budz 02-03-2006 06:33 PM

p.s

IF anyone wants to buy an ad on the warning page @ www.voyeurz.tv The ad will remain up the rest of this month.

make me an offer:

chadglni 02-03-2006 06:37 PM

jacked 02-03-2006 08:40 PM

what bullshit how many of you mother fuckers have fake myspace profiles for your models?

some are very legit no nudity no links to the adult site blah blah blah

but 9/10 have some pic of bare tits and ass, and thats against myspace policy...

9/10 have a link to an adult site on the profile and that is against myspace policy

IF IT WAS SUCH A CONCERN TO MYSPACE THEY SHOULD HAVE BANNED HIS DOMAIN NOT CONTACTED HIS HOST AND TRY AND HAVE THEM REMOVE/CHANGE THE FILE THAT IS FUCKING BULLSHIT IF MY HOST EVER TRIED TO MODIFY OR CHANGE ANY OF MY FILES THEY'D BE HEARING FROM MY LAWYER

whether it was against myspace policy or not its on their part to block the domain now not the host of the site in question.... fucking morons

he isn't the one going around hotlinking his images on their site it's their fucking users... i'd be asking them to pay my bandwith bill at the end of the month free loading cocksuckers...

has webgems contacted you yet about resolving this issue... this is LUDACRIS i'd ask them to explain themselves then drop them...

IF THEY'll DO IT TO YOU ONCE THEY'll DO IT AGAIN
