Roger, with all due respect. You are taking this all too personal for your own good.

Roger....Roger, you attack me and try to ruin my credibility with damaging rumours and then you get pissed off because I don't "just shut the fuck up"? Your a piece of work Roger! If I had attacked you with a bunch of fucking lies I'm sure you would "just shut the fuck up" too right? You came after me slinging mud first cowboy...in case you forgot. All these panties in a bunch.

Roger said his piece and he's entitled to his opinion. He does know the girl in question so of course he's a little emotionally involved and that does change your perspective on situations, so give the guy a break.

Dean, I can completely understand you being upset at the rumor that came out here, but don't ya think you would be better off finding out who started the rumor than freaking out cuz Roger told you? I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I'd rather someone tell me they heard something not to nice about me so I could address it.

My take on the original issue? Not that anyone cares, but I've read what you all had to say so know I am going to subject you to my opinion. *grin* It's a bikini site, right? That's what it appears to be to me. If I am correct on that account, I don't think there really are grounds for the model to be upset. A bikini site is no different then the Sport's Illustrated swimwuit issue, as far as it being "porn" or not. ePassporte, if truly interested in protecting their employee from having her image used in an unauthorized manner (a noble idea, but it doesn't seem like the use is unauthorized from the information that's been provided) could have provided her with legal counsel instead of denying the account. Of course they can run their biz how they see fit-we all can. But there is good biz practice that most of us strive for, and they fell short of that, IMO.

Anna_O 01-26-2006 08:32 AM

I love this thread :) Btw, where did Roger go?

Aza 01-26-2006 08:34 AM

The thing is....if epassporte had explained the situation and made some decent and professional requests, things could have been easily resolved.

Instead they made threats, and suggested we forged/manipulated the documents. This is just insulting.

Its not our fault the model chose to not fully read or understand the documents she was signing.

And besides, it is bikini content in a bikini site.

Michael O 01-26-2006 08:34 AM

Chris Mallick is currently in Europe but will be in the thread shortly to answer the questions posted here.

Hey Chase - If Roger would have ICQ'd me or sent me an email addy and briefed me on the rumour...that would have been great. I would have been more then happy to explain anything that I could to him about whatever he's talking about. Instead, he decided to take a private convo between him and a buddy - a convo where his buddy was asking for advice - and use that pubicly against me without ever finding out or caring what my side of the story was. Yea...that pisses me off pretty big time. I had a lot of respect for Roger before this but right now.....he's ruined all his credibility with me :disgust

I'm finished replying to Roger's bullshit rumours here in this thread. Roger, if you have anything you feel you need to say to me...reply to the email that I sent to you last night. I think your a piece of shit for bringing this rumour to this board without first finding out what my side of the story was but I'm sure you think you were doing your friend some justice and apparently it made you feel good to spread these lies about me? :Oh crap

And to your friend who told you this lie - grow some fucking balls and contact me directly if you have a problem with me. If we've done business together...you know how to reach me. And be prepared to tell me why you confided in Roger (which he didn't keep private) instead of discussing this with me first.

First, let me say that I have nothing against Keyser, Chris, or Epassporte but this is the reason we never opened an epassporte account. I don't like to judge people or companies by just what I read, but Business Is Business. All of the complaints that we have read regarding the company is more than enough to make us keep our distance.

Also, not to pass early judgement but:

Chris Mallick is the only one that can answer for this? If you tried to pull this in the mainstream corporate world, you would be laughed out of existence. Sometimes the company (IMHO) tends to come off as a bunch of kids or amateurs trying to play "business", and not as a serious and legitimate corporation with goals and competant management :2 cents:

Yeah, I'm feelin' ya. I do understand where you are coming from, and I'd be riled up in your shoes, too.

I guess I'm just a PollyAnna type. It takes a lot for me to lose respect for someone that I considered a good person-more then saying something out of turn unless it was passing out my SSN or something. I know I make a lot of mistakes, so I try not to hold anyone to any higher standards then I know I could meet myself.

Chris Mallick 01-26-2006 09:34 AM

Sorry it took so long to post, but I am in Europe on business.

I have not read this entire thread, so I may not be answering all questions posted but this what I am allowed and prepared to say.

I will only post this once in this or any related material thread.

We may choose to do business with, or to decline to do business with whomever we want, just as any other company. We declined this business for a variety of reasons, most of which are the subject of future litigation and as a consequence I am unable to comment fully.

What I will say is that: (1) the model release was altered and did not allow for publication of the photos beyond the one swimsuit calendar that Lesley posed for; (2) the ads and banners and search engine promotions are not truthful or accurate, as Lesley has NEVER posed nude and does not appear in any adult related material whatsoever, therefore the client promotes sites that do not deliver the promised content. This violates FCC regulations and our internal policies; (3) Lesley is a valued, trusted and professional member of our Team at ePassporte, plus one of my closest friends, so I am personally offended that her images are being used and promoting her as a ?porn star?. I obviously have no problem with Adult content or sites, but when a woman is NOT content and her images are being stolen and misrepresented, and it affects her career and personal life, then I get bent out of shape. Any of you would have reacted the same, I hope, if your friends were being treated in this way.

The bottom line is that I won?t do business with this company or this individual. It is my choice and not one that implies anything to this Industry, to which I have been and will continue to be an ardent supporter and actively involved.

Lastly, Lesley is going to file a lawsuit to have these lies and misrepresentations corrected as she has been and continues to be damaged. I will support her efforts in that regard in any way she wishes. This could all be avoided if the images were removed, which is what we asked the company to do, at Lesley?s request. They chose to leave them up, to continue damaging her and then the account was declined. End of story.

Once again, no one from ePassporte will post further, no matter how much we are baited or threatened or taunted in this or any other forum. Actually I am not even going to return to this thread to avoid wasting time and energy. This is a legal matter going forward. Hopefully this is understandable to all of our valued clients. If not, I?m sorry that I can?t explain our position any further.

IMHO, from a (mainstream) corporate standpoint: VERY poor response. It felt extremely defensive and full of contempt for the reader(s) in general; not just who it was directed towards :2 cents:

Sounds like the CEO is boning her and she pull'd a red card on it.

Poor decision.

Eric 01-26-2006 10:20 AM

I think this comes down to an issue of respect. How we all deal with each other is the most important thing.

This is one of the few industries that direct competitors can be the best of business partners. We all may bitch or fight with each other, but at the end of the day we all still want to do business together.

The team at Epassporte, Shaliza Lesley Chris and many others, do an excellent job. Moving forward they have some great things in store for all of us.

Would we all like to see this or that integrated into their system? Of course.
Are they working hard to get those integrations put in there? Of Course they are.

In the end it comes down to all playing nice together. We will get much further.

ssp 01-26-2006 10:43 AM

ePassporte has every right to deny any potential client for whichever reason. Find yourself another payment processor and move on.

Look up (Post #141) :winkwink:

jayeff 01-26-2006 12:12 PM

By whatever passes for standards in this industry, the Bikini Babes site (and the advertising material it offers affiliates) seems remarkably restrained. I couldn't find anything which openly suggested the girls get nude or are porn stars. On the contrary, it is stressed over and over that these are bikini models, posing in swimwear.

I hate this kind of thread, not just because it brings out the worst in a lot of posters and serves as a reminder of how many clowns this industry attracts, but mainly because once this thread has become yesterday's news, we are left with more questions than answers.

Chris Mallick's response suggests that the people running Dollars4Babes are dishonest, but there is enough fluff in his post to make it difficult to decide whether that is true and he made a professional decision, or whether he is covering for letting his personal whims take over. We have no idea whether the releases really were doctored, because as usual no-one took the simple route, which in this case would have been to show us the before and after. We get instead the routine cop-out of "pending legal action"...

It is possible but seems unlikely, that if a sponsor had altered releases he would knowingly send them to someone with access to the originals. That thought gives rise to wondering whether D4B was unaware of any problem and therefore that any alterations were made by the content provider. Yet no-one seems to be getting very energized about him. Odd.

It doesn't surprise me that someone who has acted, in - let's say - a "less than professional" manner, should be keen to muddy up the issues in threads like this. What always baffles me is that - assuming anyone involved is squeaky clean - they too never seem to provide what it would take to make that clear. Inevitably we end up with doubts about the professionalism and/or honesty of everyone involved, with the choice of either sucking it up and hoping any such shortcomings never impact on us, or taking the safe route and crossing everyone off the "good people to work with" list.

I don't mind making these decisions as such, but having to make them based on drama threads like this gets really old.

I totally agree and you dont see mainstream webmasters talking shit like this about a company on a board..

also when a thread like this get serious it does get dropped off the board and teken to the next level which normally legal action or resolved behind the scenes. either way its a drama board and pissing match I rarely see any real biz take place on the board. its done off the boards

Bottom line the boards give you branding and can either work for you or against you but will never effect a company directly:2 cents:
