People on ebay are so fucking STUPID

I sold an item, and this motherfucker cancels his order.

I write him back and tell him he can't, that I already paid for his preorder.

He writes back and says "Again, I disagree" -- wtf? Disagree with what? he also says it's his "right" to cancel an order.

So I write him back and tell him that according to Ebay's terms, bidding and winning an auction is essentially a contract, and he has to fulfill it.

I get at least one douchebag a week like this.

This is just goign to end up as a negative feedback on my so-far perfect record.

I bought something on there the other day and the moron got it sent to the wrong address, the person at the wrong address signed for it, and I didn't get shit.

I told him which address to send it to before he shipped it, which was replied by him and said that is fine, and he still sent it to the wrong address.

He is still liable for the auction. File a complaint at ebay against the seller if he isn't going to refund your money

If this is happening to you weekly, then you can always set up your auctions as "Immediate Payment Required". The auction doesn't end until payment is received via PayPal. It's a good idea to do this if you sell electronics and other "high fraud" items. A bid is a legally binding contract, but unfortunately eBay doesn't protect the seller. The seller has to cover their own butt's, like not paying for a pre-order until the customer has paid you.
File for you FVF's and move on. He'll get a strike against his account and after three, he's out. As far as negative FB goes...don't neg him unless he neg's you first. If he give's you negative FB, then give it back to him. You can always file for mutual withdrawal if it comes down to it.
eBay is a frusterating place, at times. I have a store and am a P.S. but there will be plenty of NPB's and that is the price you pay for using eBay as a venue. If you have a store there, you know all of this stuff, just don't let the deadbeat's get you down.

Yeah - I do have IPR setup, and he did already pay; so I am losing money because by refunding I'm losing my profit.

In any case, this is obviously another ebay tard. What kinda crap do you sell for your PS position?

I'm not, and I don't think I ever could be as I sell collectibles as they become popular, typically preorders too. So the demand ebbs and flows. Ia m looking for one solid product, though.

Boy, that does suck when people back out after paying. It seems like the NPB's come in herd's, too. And it does get soooo frusterating dealing with them, I do know where you're coming from.
I sell antique's and high-end collectible's, specifically old police items, restraints, handcuff's, etc. This is a tough, competitive market and it sounds like you are in a tough market, too. Trying to find that next "hot" item is stressful, that's why I stick with the stuff I do. Seriously, don't give up. Every seller goes through the same thing! I'm always on the look out for a solid item to sell, and I scour the boards on eBay and every other venue I can find to see what people are buying. It's a tough market and eBay isn't the same place now as it was 5 years ago. Good Luck!

I had a guy bid an item of mine up to $150 odd, held it for the majority of the auction (6 days), then tell me that he didn't think it would get that high and it's too much to pay.

Fuckin retards
