WTF is splitinfinity up to?!@#

Was just looking at my server and found out that they moved me from Verio to Cogent without notifying me!

What the hell are they trying to pull here. I signed up with Splitinfinity because they were using Verio bandwidth but now they switch me to cogent out of the blue.

Atleast lower my monthly price if your going to switch me to inferior bandwidth.

go to www.arin.net and search for 38.100.232.206 in the whois box
The IP is owned by cogent.

If you host with them I suggest you check your server.

For the record.. It's possible that it could be a Cogent IP but based on how they manage their BGP sessions your traffic could be going out through Verio or their other providers.

i'm not jumping on the bandwagon, just helping to post factual information

i'm sure they have a valid reason for being late with support & switching you to cogent

and i'm sure someone will be in here to straighten it up publically

I know I've been with them for over a year. They also moved my box to a new Data Center without telling me. Yesterday and today were just unacceptable. I was willing to just let everything go and not say anything. But when I found out that I got switched to cogent without even being notified I had to post to get some answers.

Y'all would cry if you knew how many hosts had their inbound routes configured on the "good" providers while routing their traffic out through the likes of Cogent, cheap peering and other alternatives that aren't the premium bandwidth being marketed.

I don't know anything about the Split situation, I'm wondering if they're moving stuff perhaps the routing through Cogent is temporary or a backup solution while some other setup is in progress. Best of luck to everyone -

Brad

I can't even believe anyone hosts with those clowns, the pictures they post on GFY alone is enough to keep my business in a more professional environment.

For the record... The ips were bought off cogent and will be changing routes soon. We are not keeping people in or on cogent, and the fact this post was made was sad because the customer did not even bother asking us first. We have our fibers routed through cogent, level 3, williams, xo, cox, sprint and more, and that will take affect shortly. If you have any questions feel free to hit me up in icq i will go into more details about wuts going on shortly... Do not be concerned. 254759453

its not sad

if ppl paid for something else and YOUR changing routes, YOU should inform your clients about this temporary change, not have them query it.

Verio is doing something like dropping all their pipes [Verio not SI] from what i recall.

Would you rather they just left you on Verio and all your sites went down overnight?

Regards,

Lee

This is true, verio is dropping all there pipes and have sold that data center. We had no choice and no time and we had one simple choice and it was to move everyone right away and thats what we did, if we didnt everyone would of been down even longer. We have a little less then a week to move our clients and I am sorry we have not called everyoen but in a situation like this, there isnt really time to plan it all out, all we can do is move and reconfigure everything and hope for the best. Regarding the ip space, no other Datacenter was ready for this kind of move expect for one, and the one we moved into had the racks the bandwidth but not the ips, so we had to buy ips off cogent and they will soon go through the correct routes. We are sorry this happend but this is above SI and it has to do with Verio. THe plus side to all this is the bandwidth is better and aside from the few angry customers alot of them have noticed this new network is alot faster. We have more staff here, and overall things are going to be better for our customers here. Once again I am sorry this has happened but it needed to happen or alot of you would be down. Have a good night if you have any questions feel free to call me 858 610 7152 i will not be on the boards to much for we are sitll moving people.

I imagine you would have received more than ample notification from Verio regarding this, if it is indeed true. A simple email would've gone a long way too.

Best,
Sam

I'm starting to get sick of this.
We have one server down for 4 days, e-mails are not responded to
as soon as you hit someone on icq they say "ok" and disappear.

Our ser is also still down, it has been down for over 4 days now.

Can we get a fucking straight answer to when things will be up again, or do we need to find a new host?

Its funny how their staff has plenty of time to post on gfy, but no time to send out an email informing their customers of the situation and no time to respond to emails from those who have downed servers. Now thats sad Joel.

If you want a refund you must meet with the owner face to face to negotiate a deal.

Dude you really need to shut the fuck up and stop spewing all this garbage. You are routing your traffic through Cogent and charging prices for better bandwidth, thats the bottom line. Basically you are scamming your customers!!!!!

isn't "have our fibers routed through cogent" = cogent BW? no matter how nice you try to dress it up?

If it was a Russian free-host, it would be OK. But last time I checked it wasn't, but I could be wrong
