Oh shit here we go again..

CAIRO, Egypt

Al-Jazeera aired an audiotape purportedly from Osama bin Laden on Thursday, saying al-Qaida is making preparations for attacks in the United States but offering a truce to rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan.

The voice on the tape said heightened security measures in the United States are not the reason there have been no attacks there since the Sept. 11, 2001, suicide hijackings.

Instead, the reason is "because there are operations that need preparations, and you will see them," he said.

"Based on what I have said, it is better not to fight the Muslims on their land," he said. "We do not mind offering you a truce that is fair and long-term. ... So we can build Iraq and Afghanistan ... there is no shame in this solution because it prevents wasting of billions of dollars ... to merchants of war."

The speaker did not give conditions for a truce in the excerpts aired by the Arab broadcaster.

If bin laden was serious he would not be offering terms - he would simply do it for shock value then ask for terms before it was to happen again. People know what he wants - and I think he now knows what we want, for him to shut the fuck up and be glad he got away with murder last time by USA stopping to look for him

I was watching David Letterman last night and he did the little skit called
"George W. Bush - WHAT? " Basically for those who have never seen it, it's a small excerpt from a public appearance that Bush has made where his speech to the media has made absolutley no sense whatsoever.

so the one last night made me laugh, but at the same time... made me think - damn is this who we have running our country?

anyway, i am not saying i'm not concerned about the threats we are receiving from Bin Laden but at the same time the media does tend to take things and turn it up a notch. I'm going to just hope that its just a ploy for some ratings!
