They do provide that little, tiny, almost unnoticeable X up in the LEFT corner. (I had dimmed the brightness on my monitor and had to search for it for a couple min yesterday.)

What I don't understand is what makes them think that utilizing such forceful advertising (which often doesn't even work on surfers) is gonna work on webmasters.

Like we're gonna think, "Where the hell is the exit button?!? Well, I guess if I can't close em, I'll just have to promote em..."

Hopefully, they'll just buy a banner space soon...

My 2 cents,
c-lo

So far it looks like it just affects IE. This isnt the first floater thing like that though. I know at least 1 other sponsor had one of those. Although you could more easily find the exit button on theirs.

Have those of you using browsers other than IE never seen any of these pop-up floater things?

Shoehorn!: Glad ya got a kick out of that.

Pr0,

I believe it would only be good for clicks from drifting surfers (definitely not the target audience) or webmasters that are either extremely new or who click it hoping it will close.

I just don't think it makes a favorable impression on most webmasters. To me it makes them look like they really need business...and if they believe that ad's tolerable & not irritating to webmasters, imagine what kind of crap they believe your surfers will tolerate.

It just doesn't seem like an effective way to target established webmasters...and if they're looking to make sales, shouldn't that be the target audience?

Just my opinion. I'd love to hear how you see it & maybe gain some insight from someone with much more marketing experience than myself.
