Priest Convicted...
So I am watching the news right now. First story is about how 11 guys in Laguna Beach are arrested for "Attemptling Lewd Acts" with a 14 year old. Basically one of those internet sting ops, where they get the guys to show up and arrest them...
News says they can face up to 4 years.. Next story is a Priest had just been CONVICTED of MOLESTING a boy, confessed to molesting 12 others, but due to the statute of limitations couldn't be brought up on charges... and can face up to 3 years... I am confused at why the first offense has a longer sentence then the second? Anyone? Bueller? |

That confuses me too, but dont bother, 3 years in prison is a LOOONG, LOOOONG time for a child molester (if he gets out alive...)

well there are certain legal intricacies in this matter... probably, the second case cannot be proven beyond reasonable doubt, that's why sentence is shorter. in the courts, it is not only a matter of truth but the preponderance of evidence that will support the truth, as well
