Bang Bros, why do you have so many 404's in your tours?

I made a thread a while ago about the 404's on your tours. Although you didn't respond to the thread the broken links appeared to get fixed. What I don't understand is why they are reappearing. At the time of the initial thread I pointed out a bunch of broken links that go 404 on monsters of cock tour 1, they were text links at the bottom. Now all of a sudden another text link has appeared at the bottom of the page that goes 404. It says "back to girls". This link was there before but was taken down after I made the thread. Why does this continue to happen? I also saw on shemps board a while ago something posted about a trouble ticket system when you email support. Did I read that wrong because when I email your support my emails go unanswered?

http://www.monstersofcock.com/t1/cfree=noadvert/

There's also 404's on the join page of mrcameltoe. Uncensored area and members area at the bottom.

Thanks,
smoke

Do notice that their 404 script overwrites your referral and changes the referral to bb404.

Accidental shaving?

That is a nasty leak. That home link should either not be there or at least carry our IDs over. The "back to girls" link is a total crock of shit and looks way out of place. Did someone just throw that in there?

Why call that a leak instead of calling it what it is? It's shaving. The 404 script should check to see if there is already a referral id set, and pass it along too. This is trivial for a programmer to do. They chose not to. Shaving.

not sure why this KEEPS happening..

I think they just dont like doing very much work over there..

I have been watching this page www.projectmilk.com which is bangbros tgp for affiliates to send traffic to, made several threads and several emails about it NEVER working , not in months , its always broken.. nothing "shaving" going on , but you would think someone could at least fix the errors after lets say "a month" or so..

and i also mentioned the 404 pages needing tracking several times.. ( due to the fact there are so many problems on the sites leading to 404's )

even the 404 is coded incorrectly , its supposed to pass along revs=bb404 and instead passes noadvert in several places.

Its blatant shaving. In my prior thread I pointed out the text links at the bottom of moc, they were deleted from the tour. But when I recently checked they were back and not working as usual.

http://www.monstersofcock.com/t1/cfr...ots/mc2071.htm

You may want to pay close attention to their hosted galleries as well. I've seen quite a few leaks. Like missing pictures or movies when you click a thumb or just flat out 404's on the links. That project milk site is just one giant traffic leak. If you want examples of their shady hosted galleries have a look at that site.

You can?t pass the webmaster ID or any variable through a 404 redirect. They also reset the cookie if they reclick, so no chance of your ID getting credit for the sale. Most programs reset the cookie & id on any error, just like them.

The errors on the tour will probably be fixed, however they probably aren?t shaving, it?s called an error. I make them, you make them, 1000?s of webmasters every day make them. If you think a link or two on a tour is a problem, start checking your sponsors hosted galleries, most have errors.

I know that you guys are a small program and so it's harder for you to catch mistakes.. But you would think a program that rakes in the type of cash they're supposed to would hire some cheap grunt to check over everything every few days or something.. And it's not just them.. Other big programs have problems that prevent even them from making sales sometimes and few of them seem to give a shit... makes you wonder what they do with their days.

But then again, given how oxcash died I'm not all that surprised really.

You cant ? could have fooled me.. i can think of dozens of ways in seconds..

Its true most programs dont track 404 hits , the point he was making is , it isnt just a few mistakes its sitewide problems that occur are fixed and re-occur, thus there are MANY 404 pages being hit. so they should build it into their 404 to make people happy. or fix the mistakes..

Dude, shut the fuck up!

Error? On every fucking site? Different spots? Bullshit... They did this to use their own traffic leaks for shaving... It is soooo fucking obvious it is fucking insane... I have over 250,000 pages and I know I do NOT have anything like this going on... Don't feed me bullshit, it doesn't taste good and it has to many calories...

Back to Girls Page -> on the main page of Monsters of Cock right above the graphic that a surfer would normaly click to go to the next page of the tour is an error?

Did you look at the tour? Just in case you missed it

http://www.monstersofcock.com/t1/cfree=noadvert/

Look at the bottom right. It shouldnt be there. Its out of place. Makes no sense and doesn't even carry the affiliate ID.

BangBros any response on this?

Hey I wasn't saying they didn't do it on purpose, just saying it is possible they didn't. Wembasters have found errors on my tours, galleries, ect.. I corrected the errors of course. I could spend 10 minutes on pretty much any program and find at least one error on a tour, join pages, exit errors, etc.. It isn't like I made the mistake, one of the staff didn't double check his work, and I sure as fuck don't have enough time to double check everything. Errors happen.

And Vrocks, out of 250k pages, you 100% do have errors, unless the pages are generated by scripts. It isn't like BB has an error on every page, on every tour, and every join page. They have some errors, some bad errors, but really for "paysite owners" those are very normal, they just didn't get caught & fixed. We miss links from designers, staff really make stupid mistakes, and sometimes we just fuck up, it does happen.

As for the 404 redirects, yeah, you can't redirect the var through the 404 and the 404 page on the other side won't pick it up. If that was the case, 404 traps would give back to the webmaster easier. I leave the links on my 404 open to the paysite, so the cookie doesn't get taken over.. It's about all I can do.

.
most people here arent saying bangb did it on purpose they are just a bit peeved that nothing gets fixed is all.

You say webmasters have found errors on your site and you have fixed them, thats kind of my point.. projectmilk has been broken for MONTHS not days . Same with the hosted galleries , they were "fixed" at one point and they suddenly re-broke ( dont ask me how a fhg breaks , but i suppose its possible )

and btw passing along a ref code is super easy , you check the referer for a string such as PPS=YOURID and pass it along.. bingo bango

x = document refer

if "pps=" is in x then strip everything left of pps= then find the next & n the string and strip everything to the right, you are left with userid which can then be passed along a href=bangbros/'+ x'

Jesus you guys are fucking stupid.

You guys truly think a sponsor is wasting time and brainpower to intentionally rip you off for $500 short term profit by setting up some 404s and risking their whole reputation and long term earning potential?

To the fools whining in this thread, get a clue. Vegas & Internext kept most program owners and webmasters from their routine tasks. Today is Monday, most people just got back to their offices these minutes.

Server strips the query string on 404's.

If I am a whining fool for asking why a link is right above the spot where a surfer would click the graphic to continues a tour then so be it.

The link shouldn't be there. Internext or not. Every year its the same story with some sponsor when an issue comes up. Leaving someone behind to tend to business would be a good idea.

Many people send paid traffic to these tours. I am one of those people. Every click costs me money. If I am losing even 25% of my surfers to a leak thats money out of my pocket.

nobody is saying that..

They are saying that it shouldn't take months to fix.. , vegas and internext haven't been going on for 2 months..

Who's to say its the sponsor? maybe the owners are bugging the managers to bump up profits.. so they skim some traffic and profits increase..

I am back now and I am working on it. None of this is intentional, but it's nice to see how many people + sponsors love to jump in with the opinion of us doing this on purpose.

Projectmilk has been removed from the affiliate area for about 6 months, it's functional, just some thumbs are not, today I will be completely changing that site 100%.

These leaks have not been around "forever" as people have stated, we have our tech guys looking into what might of caused the problem.

As for anyone else that believes they were effected by this issue, I can credit you.

No, because the referring url is the 404 redirect and not where it came from. It doesn't pass the referring url through the redirect, being so the script on the other side can't capture it.
