If Aussie did kill some burglars with an axe who were in his house, I think it's okay.
Simple solution, you don't want to get chopped up with an axe while breaking into people's houses, don't break into people's houses. Criminals should have zero rights while they're invading someone's home.

Are the court transcripts available to the publiz in OZ? Here in the US it's just a matter of asking the clerk for them but I am not familiar with Australian information policies. That would be great reading. You really need to do some radio talk shows and get your story out, lobby to change the laws and try to get a pardon if you can swing it to remove the conviction from your record(happens over here quite often). Talk radio loves activists with a high moral sense of duty. BTW, I vote that AR is a badass mofo with a good heart.

its a tough call sleazy my best friend is serving 11 years right now becuase we were at a bar and some drunk kept fucking with him my buddy went into the bath room and the guy followed him in while eric was taking a piss the guy came up behind him and slammed his head in to the urinal. eric turned around fucking hit him hard as hell and the dude dropped dead with a brain anurism. shit happens and they gave a good guy 11 years for killing him . the laws and the punishment are fucked up .

kmanrox, if he is telling the truth and he served 8 years then theres hardly going to be link.. given that most news services don't have archives going back that far (almost but not quite)..
also he's in the middle of nowhere and wouldn't have neccessarily made the national daily papers.. and he didn't bring this up now.. someone else did.. he mentioned it briefly about 4 months ago i think... i certainly wouldn't drive to the nearest courthouse just to prove something i didn't bring back up to a bunch of guys i'd never met if i lived out in the middle of nowhere.... actually.. with a bit of ribbing i might.. but it would have to be serious..
