I haven't heard myself, and someone won my donation. I'd really like to pay up.

I highly doubt that since 95% of the money collected has been through company checks MADE OUT to RED CROSS OF AMERICA and then all put into an envelope along with the money collected by online methods and sent in to Red Cross. People that know me, know that i would never take charity money and spend it on myself thats just selfish and stupid. If you won an item and Havnt been contacted PLEASE hit me up on icq at 295458749 or email me at [email protected]

Red Cross took their time cashing the checks. But we got a letter from the Red Cross yesterday thanking us for our donation.

I just hope the money actually goes to the people who need it, and fast.

By the way....

2 thumbs up for Pete, and everyone else who helped out and contributed to this auction.

We sent our check out right away, and contacted everyone we bought items from, right away. Went as smooth as it should have.

By the way Pete, again, thanks for the time and effort you put into this and good luck with your new program. I was told never to trust Satan but on this case, i will make an exception, just becuase of the good things you did for Katrina relief.

Ya know whats fucked up though? All these mainstream businesses that donated money for nothing more then a publicity stunt.

Not to mention these "faith based" groups. I read somewhere, cant recall where, that many of these "faith based" groups, are going to be paid back by the government for their "donations". Shit like that makes me want to throw up.

Wish I was so lucky - Pete's been great, but I've been chasing one company (a BIG one) that donated an item (a relatively expensive one) that I bought for six weeks now - got one return email from them in early November, and then nothing further - they're not answering my emails and today ignored my ICQs.
I'm giving them until next week, then will see if Pete can help, and then will have to go public, I guess...even though that's not my style.

The Red Cross gave $380 to eligible persons a few weeks after the storm. Currently they are giving out a box of dry goods but only to the households that registered/qualified for the first assistance. They only registered so many people per day, I know several people who waited in line but never got registered and elderly who couldn't wait in line but they wouldn't let someone else take care of it for them
