Question for the Dutchies

One of our members pays for us to go to Belgium each year for a vacation. This year we'll be staying in Antwerp and will be taking the train to Paris to spend the day. Can anyone tell me how far of a trip that is, we'll be doing the high speed train (Thalys).

hmm, 1hour and a half or two hours if I am correct , very fast and easy connection

I btw am from antwerp , and can tell you that its a unique city , with all the diamonds from all over the world coming for almost 70% from belgium , also , the chocolot industry is very well known ,

and if you are in antwerp make sure to go the red light district known as het "shippers kwartier"

Antwerp can be a blast , and is actually much more interesting than paris

stay in antwerp

Thanks guys. We stayed in Mechelen last year, very beautiful but not much of a night life. We wanted to do Antwerp this year for a little more adventure. We went to Amsterdam last year and spent an evening, was awesome. This year the wife wanted to do Paris since it's always been a dream of hers.
We'll definitely put het "shippers kwartier" on our list of things to do, thanks for the advise.

Don't confuse the Dutch with the Belgians too much, you'll piss loads of people from both sides off, lol. Have fun on your journey, Antwerp is great!

Mechelen is around the corner here nuffin to do there, Antwerp is nice but take the Thalys to Paris, Paris is still amazing. Antwerp is nice but nothing compared to Paris imho.

PS did you book the Thalys? 6 months pre-booking is normal otherwise you wont get on it or pay huge fares.

Thanks thinkx for the heads up, I had no idea I'd have to book that far in advance.
